i heard on the local news tonight that there was a car meet at a strip mall and things had gone wrong. i've heard about the meets before, usually friday and saturday nights, with around 40-100 cars, open to the public and even the police are usually there and nothing happens (from what i hear by several sources, ive never gone, but have passed by it). theres all kinds of cars out there from the new to the classics. anyway, two idiots think that its cool to race in the parking lot and in their antics hit a crowd of people at speed. at least 4 went to the hospital and at least one is in critical condition and not looking good. one guy was driving a 3rd gen rx-7 and the other was driving some kind of honda. the rx-7 guy stopped when he hit the people and the honda guy took off and left the scene. of course now there will be no local meet there and no place to hang out with cars. anyway my point is that 2 morons ruined a good thing that was happening with the local car scene and now there's a good chance that it will not be back. i know most of you guys on here would probably know better than to do this, but please if you know anyone who looks like they are thinking of racing at a meet like this, please get them not to do it! i have nothing against the meets or people street racing as long as it is responsible (and don't give me crap about "street racing is never responsible") this is just information passed on to other sources. if any information seems unclear, please post and i'll try to clear it up as much as possible.
