I was thinking of things to do with my gsl-se today, and i thought it might be cool to turn it into a rally car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png But just out of curiosity, how would one go about changing it to an awd. It seems like i would have to swap alot of things.

Maybe get a transfercase...I dunno..I wouldnt even try.
|
yeah, it'd be alot of custom fabrication. i think that Rhys Millen had a AWD first gen rally car.
|
well part of it was easy, 83-87 626 front struts are a bolt in, its the front diff and transfer case thats the hard part...

now that's one hell of a project...AWD RX-7 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Just buy an AMC Eagle.

or a subaru brat
|
lol.. my uncle has a brat. :-p But i want a first gen awd rally car... :(
|
it was rod millen that had the 1st gen rally cars.
rod millen had 3 of them i believe there were a total of 10 built, i dont know who they were built by though rod also built, and still has a 20B powered 2nd gen AWD pikes peak car. do a search on rx7club.com there is like a 5 page thread on the topic where i posted pics of several first and second gen AWD cars. |
There are plenty of first gen's on the rally circuit in rwd drive configuration... AWD is not a necessity to compete...
