It has to be hosted somewhere.

If you are creative you could attach the image to a post, right click the image, then properties and use that for your avatar URL :smilewinkgrin:

has anyone ever noticed how soooo tiny those avatar pictures are? how does vos have such a huge pic? my won't go bigger than 64/64 pixels, i know there is a limit but obviously vos is just special or somthing.

Yep, thats why I put the pic of my car in my sig, not as my avatar, it looked like a little black dot.
