ahhh maybe one of you knows something i dont... ok im trying to get an auto loan for 15000 but im getting denied everywhere even when i try with a co signer with good credit.. i have absolutley NO credit and i neeeeeeeeeed this loan or im gonna die and have to buy an evo because no private seller will take payments on an fd

Hit up a relative, ask to work out a payment plan with interest and have them hold the title, just like a bank (but you still won't have credit). Or just wait and build good credit with a gas card (low risk) or credit card, in the mean time saving money.

Buy a beater daily driver thats cheep and reliable. SAVE your money until you have enuff for a PLAY CAR!!!

Sounds harsh, but this is LIFE. QITYERGODDAMNBELLYACHING

If you cant afford cash for a FD you dont need it

spaceman Spiff 07-01-2004 11:33 AM

i thought about loans before but then i realized that i dont want to have to give all my money to the bank. and dont say that u dont give all your money because you give as much as you can.

Save for the "play car" like suggested. Or get into a good credit union, built up some credit, and then see how much you can get.

cymfc3s 07-01-2004 12:14 PM

its not a very good idea to finance an older car, like an FD. Pay cash for a "play" car. Finance a reliable, good daily driver. AKA a "normal" car.

This has been mentioned in a round a bout way but I would wait until I could pay cash for the FD...Reason....

If an FD which I do not own is anything like an FC, you will basically have 2 monthly payments. One to your bank for the note and one to keep the car on the road. If nothing happens one month it is bound to happen eventually and probably before your bank note is paid and fixing FB's, FC's, and FD's ain't exactly cheap.

Look at all the threads on this forum. There is constant work being done on these cars. There are tons of guys bitching at what a money pit these cars are.

Like Banzai said....It is just life. I don't think I would ever take out a loan to purchase one of these cars. I don't care what year it is. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them, they just aren't worth being tied to a bank note for.

To be on the safe side I would wait until cash is the option for purchase.

Provided you have a savings account with some money in there...you could take a colatteral (sp?) against what you have in there...I would think that could yield a decent rate?
