Probably would work. Whenever I start my car up in the winter(my oil control seals are alittle worn), I get plenty of strange looks from bystanders. But in your neighborhood, I'd guess you would have to watch out for the EPA Nazis.

the one and only time we did this one, we put about a capful of atf total in the engine, the neighbors came by wondering if the house was on fire...
