YukiRX7Aisha 12-05-2003 06:57 PM

Scariest 45 minutes of my life, attempting to drive home from work.

Car wouldn't stay straight if my life depended on it...

...and I was driving my little beater, too.

rotarychainsaw 12-05-2003 08:01 PM

Im too close to the ocean. Its all slush. hopefully tommorrow will be better.

FikseRxSeven 12-05-2003 08:05 PM

key is to be very easy on the clutch and move 2 miles per hour and cause a major backup on the road you're on

lol, when i drove to 7-11, everytime i went to slip the clutch to move foward, just spun the tires...there was no traction https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png...my goal is to have a car like that, that does the same thing, but when dry https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Erik 12-05-2003 08:35 PM

i left work early but still hit snow on the way home...no problem in the FC https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

christened the parking lot with a donut before I left as well...yeeeeehaw

Rotarydragon 12-05-2003 08:36 PM

Yeah there's a long hill down to my driveway, I had the neon sideways the entire way down.

Fun.

treceb 12-05-2003 11:09 PM

as i left work with less than a 1/4 tank, as i left the light before the gas station i drove about 50 ft at an angle(fake dorifto). car facing to the left while going straight. as soon as the tank was full it was better. it still was spinning too much to get into boost. and believe me i tried. i think i got it up 30 or 35.

i dont think it depends so much on slipping the clutch, its more responsive if u play with the throttle.

Used to do this all the time with the Camaro. Took me 2 minutes to go 50 feet across a parking lot once, at a good 45 degree angle because of the cross slope.

BrandonDrecksage 12-06-2003 05:16 PM

i just got in from driving my friend awd eclipse in a parking lot https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png...lots of fun...nothin like turbo AWD power in the snow https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Dramon_Killer 12-07-2003 12:47 AM

Yeah there was just a thread on how people like you and your friends got a autox place taken away.

Dramon_Killer 12-07-2003 12:23 PM

I was joking man. I wrote that because of the other thread. I've never even done donuts, my car friensd all have muscle cars so its not like theyre gonna go drifting and besides, the only autox place nearby is 3 hours away. So ease up before you go accusing "people like me, and my friends" of doing gay crap like that.

muscle cars can drift......also, someone please fiesta the asshat

Dramon_Killer 12-07-2003 12:31 PM

So can FWD cars if you put trays on the rear wheels too.

Yeah, my friend is going to take his 68 Camaro with no power steering, a locking differential and positrac with ET streets on the back and go drift it. **** if you people are going to be that stupid feel free to call my friends and yell at them for getting jim's autox parking lot taken away which just happens to be on the other ******* side of the country becuase they took their muscle cars out to drift.

i was only kidding, but jsut makin a point that u can drift with a muscle car, its really easy cause they have so much weight on the front

You can powerslide! Thats pretty much it. A powerslide is what musclecars do. A semi-controlled torque slide, to one particular side until the split differential decides it doesnt want to comply anymore.

A drift is a fully controlled slide that may last one or a series of corners, entering and clearing the apex. The front heavy engine layout is shitty, for it tends to unbalance a car and make too much momentum on the front end of the car whereas the momentum should be on the rear of the car!

BrandonDrecksage 12-07-2003 02:28 PM

so you are saying it is impossible to drift a muscle car?
