OK first and foremost, I noticed almost all the JDM cars these guys are selling, the hoods don't fit right, or there are other body gap issues. Look at the paint mismatch on the orange 180SX front bumper to fender. Can we say "wrecked and rebuilt"? Secondly, that Skyline is awfully cheap. Third, who the hell wants a JDM SUV? Also, if you go to their engines page they have a 20b for $4000 w/ harness, and several 13b's for reasonable with harnesses. |
Hoods have shims under the hinges to raise them up for additional under-hood cooling. The cheap skyline is a 4 door...

They are as common as mustangs are over there. I have seen them cheaper if their safety inspection is coming up. Many nice ones around 5k. Over there old cars cost too much in inspection fees to be worth it to most people (when I say too much I mean thousands and thousands of dollars) Everyone knows it is a government conspeciery to get people to buy new cars. It really does keep the economy up in Japan though. Thats why you see so many JDM rx7 parts/clips/engines/etc..etc...etc... for so cheap here. In japan if the car is old it is worth more in parts than it is as a whole running car. My boyfriend has told me of Japanese junkyards and said my heart would sink if I ever saw one. Perfectly good FD's (I mean clean, 30k miles, little or no mechanical issues) rotting on a salvage lot because it is too expensive to keep up with its safety inspections. A good portion of those cars end up cut in half and shipped to the US for parts. Hope that answers your questions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif |
Jesus that awnsers questions I didnt even know I had.

I don't know... some of the cars just seemed shady to me. A lot of them were nice though, and good prices... too bad you can't register a Skyline in USA anymore...
|
In the U.S. we have a "25 year rule" just like Canadas "15 year rule"
Just wait a few years and you will be able to register all the skylines you want without legalization. Now you can register anything pre-1984. In 5 1/2 years you can import all the R32 GTR's to the U.S. your heart desires duty free. Here is the U.S. motor vehicle customs form http://www.nhtsa.com/cars/rules/import/hs799short.pdf Word. |
Nice.
