I believe in physics! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Not psychics...lol I misread the title for a second. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Here's a story anyway:

"Frank" is good guy, but he's had some though breaks and is wondering when his luck will change. So he goes to the psychic who tells him, "you are going to meet you're perfect soul mate on a certain day at a certain park and you'll know which person it is because they will be carrying flowers." So he goes to the park on the appointed day looking for the girl of his dreams with a bouquet in her arms. He can't wait to find her. He's dreamed of that first moment when they lock eyes and just know it will be forever. He scours the park like a madman in search of his girl, all the while not noticing a peaceful figure quietly tending a barren patch of soil with a hand trowel. Slung over her tanned shoulder is a small burlap sack and inside are, flower bulbs! Frank, in his self-appointed quest was so busy selfishly searching for his perfect unblemished bride that he never noticed the shy gardener by the gate. Earlier, as she struggled to unload several bags of mulch from her van in the parking lot, Frank would have, on any other day, noticed the girl and politely offered his assistance starting a chain of events that would lead to a real relationship. Instead, Frank sat in the park until midnight, angry and bitter because he didn't find what he was expecting to find.

Moral of the story: Wanting to know the future is selfish; Selfishness only cares for its own desires and not the wellbeing of others; Selfishness is shortsighted and leads to unrealistic expectations; and ultimately, its possessors are left forsaken and bitterly disappointed.

All I have to say is Plz, don't be selfish. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...closedeyes.gif

Keep educating yourself, don't do drugs, don't compromise integrity, listen to good advice of your *cough* elders, work hard, then work harder, and you're future will always be there for you! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

Ha yea i thought we were going to discuss perpetual motion machines or something.

I rate psychics right up there with religion and psychologists....

If indeed there are people with psychic gifts, you won't find them behind a door with a sign offering their "services" for a fee. I would say 100% of such "Psychics" are a sham, or at best, a dubious form of entertainment.

I like Midas' story! Golden! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

However my advice differs:

Keep educating yourself, do drugs, don't compromise integrity, listen to good advice of your *cough* elders (don't listen too hard or you'll never experience anything on your own) , do as little work as possible, then take a nap (it's hard work finding ways around working) , there's no telling if you'll be sucking wind tomorrow (especially if you get carried away with the drugs) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

This is a book that was given to me several years ago, since I have loaned it out TONS of times, I highly recommend you read this book as it applies 100% to the question at hand (and many others)

I totally forgot to mention another big one: Learn from the past, or history is bound to repeat itself!

I like phinsup's revised advice(especially about work https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ), but I'm so low on the status totem pole I don't think I could afford to do any of those things without paying dearly. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.gif

I often end up getting grilled for some of my "good behavior" by a few of my immature peers.

So far, my "elders" haven't really tried smothering me with "help", and for the most part I do get good advice when I ask. I miss my Grandma a lot https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif She had some really good stories about growing up fatherless through the depression and could find the good side to every situation.

Speaking of psychologists... My younger bro is studying some psychology on the side. He's fed up with the way he gets treated at work and is going to try improving the situation through psychological manipulation. I have a feeling it will take him a while though. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.gif

Amazon is doing a package deal right now with that book. I might go for it! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Why bother with the fortune telling of psychics when the future is constantly becoming the present. Seriously...like right now...and now...this could go on for a bit.https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.gif
