I am about to make a copy of a Windows .iso (legal) and I was wondering if I should get 2000 pro or XP. Any suggestions in the next few minutes would be appreciated.

I like XP more then Pro, but you need to make sure your system can run it and everything works with XP.

i can't decide which i like better... xp has some handy things i can do with it... but i don't know if I like it as much
|
Personally, I prefer PRO...it has NT technology and in my opinion will run more programs more often at less hasle. The tech support for PRO is also greater right now if you have a problem w/ anything...
..I am an ex programmer, so I always look at things from a programming point of view, and personally PRO is a very good system..I've only used XP a few times so I have nothing really negative to say about it yet... |
I'm using XP right now and i didnt pay for it (thanks bill gates) they only problem i have with it is that it needs to be rebooted every once and a while apparently b/c of memory leaks, or somthing like that. one of the benefits is that you don't get the blue screen of death which is a plus. as for PRO i have never used it so i cant say anything about it.

XP has more of a future then Pro does, is a bit more flexable. Still, Pro has more time on it so will be more stable. |
Well, the comp I was doing the burn on crapped out on me, so I didn't get anything yet. I am going to go back later and get some VB software, so I'll get the OS then. I still haven't decided which one to get, so maybe I'll just get a copy of both...can't beat the price. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

As far as I know 2000 has been pulled, I know they don't have it in the Microsofy store any longer. May still be sitting on some shelves around town.

Personally I would run XP Pro. I am happier with it than Win 2K.

Of course as soon as Microsoft get this lawsuit figured out they can start on the "OS Kill Project" where new copies of Winblows will go out and kill older versions, give you a screen that says "Time for an upgrade, you can open your browser one more time to visit www.microsoft.com and purchase your upgrade."
HA HA, man Rotarydragon is going to get all foamy at the mouth now. |
I have Pro and I like it. If you play games however, in my experience, alot of pc games don't run. XP is supposidly really good, but I have no experience with it.

**** they have me on the radar I swear. I think they were the ones that broke into our office, except I think they just stole stuff to make it look like a robbery, meanwhile they installed cameras and bugs. I mena I go up to the Microsoft campus and cruise around with my Linux hat telling the employees they are ***** to the machine... I know that pisses them of.
