hey guys. we just had our first formula sae meeting today, and the brakes guy said they were going to develop a passive abs system. i seem to remember that no abs can stop the car faster if done properly. plus wouldn't the unit weigh quite a bit?

the distance to stop is shorter, but harder to control. I removed the ABS in an FD,added a balancer and linelock. I would say the ABS unit weighs about 10-15 pounds

what do you think we should do then? we are adding a in cockpit bias controller. what is a linelock?

A linelock allows the front brakes to be applied while the rear brakes are not. Thus "locking" the rear brakelines, allowing it to see no pressure.

Allows for some really roasty burnouts!!!

or line locks can be used the other way around alot of people used them in the rear of trucks a long time ago
