Another beautiful act of FEMA, I can't believe we gave these idiots 60 billion.

They spent 236 million on cruise ships and the only people in them is FEMA themselves.

banzaitoyota 09-28-2005 10:43 AM

And the cruise ships arent even cruising! What a waste

phinsup 09-28-2005 10:46 AM

I mean the way I figure it, 62 billion, 750,000 effected people, that's like 86,000 per person and this is gonna cost 500 billion. Reality of it is, fema prolly uses half of that "managing" the money.

rotaryinspired 09-28-2005 11:22 AM

I was listening to one of the radio stations the other day talk about charities and supposedly if you give $100 to FEMA only $20 will make it to the people who had the tradjety. They consider the other $80 administration fee.

So on a better note if everyone could send me the money I will only use 50% in administrations fees. I think I can manage off 36billion.

banzaitoyota 09-28-2005 11:25 AM

Now there are reports that some of the displaced residents (calling them evacuees is racist) are complaining, because there are not any volunteers of a similiar race to serve them; and it makes them uncomfortable. Come on RAINBOW COALITION: Why dont you organize a million man rebuilding effort!

Sinful7 09-28-2005 11:42 AM

HAHA! There was a dude on the radio this morning.. Story is, the local hip hop station is coordinating housing options for refugees in Denver. I.E. someone has an extra room in the house, they volunteer it and the radio station matches them with a refugee. Anyway, there was a dude who called in and wanted to be matched to a hot, female refugee who doesn't mind doing dishes and keeping the house clean in exchange for free room and board. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif They ripped him a new one over the phone, but the sad thing is I was thinking the exact same thing! lmao

refugee is bad, evacuee is ok.

A good portion of the money will go to mismanaging FEMA, the rest will go to temporary fixes to a permanent problem, don't get me wrong I feel for these people, but I think we need to think things through before we throw 500 billion at a city which is indeed below water.

We need to spend the money on permanent solutions rather then throwing a bandaid on something and pretending there's nothing under it.

Sinful7 09-28-2005 02:44 PM

What the ****?! An evacuee is someone who leaves before the disaster. A refugee is someone who leaves after it's bad.

Refugee = One who flees in search of refuge, as in times of war, political oppression, or religious persecution.

it wasn't war, political oppression or religious prosecution. They are not refugees.

evacuee = A person evacuated from a dangerous area.

There is nothing in the definition of evacuee to indicate it is PRIOR to a disaster If anything it would indicate more of after the area has turned dangerous.

"As in" meaning that those are examples. That doesn't mean that those are the only applicable circumstances.
