Sup this is my first post ....I came acrossed this site and liked it and maybe it can help me out on a couple things.



I purchased my first Rx 7s little over 2 yrs ago ..at an auction.

I went there to get this 85 GSLSE,But noticed it wasnt on the line to be sold ..so I waited..Just before this time I have been all through Tampa,Brandon,Riverview and a little of St Pete to find a decent cheap 1st gen 84-85 stock Mazda .Hopefully I would find a virgin to play with .



I couldnt find anything in my price range.Who wants to spend 2-3k on a car to strip down and redo ?Not me ...





Well back to the auction..ok next car up 1979 Mazda rx7 {looks like crap} red with silver fenders etc...the dam hood look like it was involved in a drive by shooting..so I decided hey if it has a motor its worth something...dam doors locked and 2 flat tires in the ft ...well I will take a chance...Bids starts off at 200$ ..hell no to high no one bid on it anyways so it kept droping...**** it hit 25$ and i bid on it ..but a junk man wanted it ..so I had to bid 50$ and was hoping he wouldnt over bid...and I got it 50$ ....



Ok I waited some time and next Mazda 1984 Rx7 GS body was clean *** hell but you can tell it sat under a tree for a little of time due to the mold..



Ok heres the problem "car starts but dont run"

and about 7 people wanted it ....every thing was there..every thing was clean the car had 78k on the speedomtere.Black with grey interior......only think I saw changed was clutch fan and shroud taken off to add a electric fan...OK so i walked in this auction with 1200$ and just used 50$ of it ...



Ok so I wanted this beast bad.. so I did a little **** talking telling them i will go to 1000$ for itand they looked at me crazy...so bids are on ...it jumped around and i bid like 2 times ..min bid is 25$ so it bounced around ..and finnaly I had it 175$ going once going twice SOLD! yep I got that bitch..



I went to pay for both and bumped into a tow truck driver I knew and he told them both home for me.OK the 79 I broke into it to get it open ..yes! it had a motor...screwed around with it changed the plugs the same day .and it ran But somked like **** sold that deal for 200$ just to get rid of it 2 weeks later.



Ok now my 84 took me 2 weeks of spare time to get it running.

Luckly I worked at a dealer ship and had keys to the shop .

OK all the **** i did was minor to get it running ....major tune up..fluid changes..filter changes...but the time I was done I had a total of 300$ in the car counting the 175$ I payed for it.

Still ran rough floats were sticking bad......and I didnt want to rebuild or buy another Mazda carb ...So I saved up..





Ok with the help from a freind Joe..

This is what we put in...



Holly 600 double pumper ..jetted down

Racing Beat /Holly intake port mached

Holly blue fuel pump pushing 7 lbs

Racing Beat Road race headers to a y then to 2 1/2 in pipes to a presilencer then to a Mozart dtm duel tip chrome muffler.

Second gen trailing [i think} coils...

stripped all emissons trash and a/c components.

lowered the car about 1 1/2 inches ft and back.

running 185/60/13 in ft and 205/60/13 in the back



I dont have much done now ...but I still have fun wooping up on some Hondas...I live in Tampa and import street drag is hot...and sring and summer is around the corner even though its like 80 degrees now ....I have to park the car ....and redo it all ..I made a promis when i get 100k on the speedo I will take her down and redo her...and time is there..I have like 99188 on her....



Ok heres some ideas i want to do ..if any one see anything wrong let me know or if any one has any info to share contact me plz....

msd ignition

short shifter

drag /strip racing clutch

16 in tires /wheels 215 /45/16

and 13s to play with

hopefully a eribuni wide body kit...

I wont say the color so I dont see another car with it..

I saw a car with the same rimes i bought and sold them just another car had them on already.........



Im looking for a 85 GSLSE suspension ft hubs and rear exel sway bars etc..If any of you are from the Florida area with some info to get it easy and cheap contact me at

Who makes a nice short shifter at a reasonable price?

I found it on mazdatrix I think and it was like 190$

also I want to run turbo soon..can I use the Racing Beat/holly intake or do i need to dig up my stock intake?



My goal is 12a street ported....Nos..and decent turbo if the money is right....I dont need to go all out ..this will be kinda a daily driver/play toy
