Listened to O's speach last week as the wife watched and felt like I was listening to the girl Summer in Napoleon Dynamite giving a High School speech promising the world.

Yes, Palin has my interest, truly a blue collar family that is offered an opportunity of a lifetime. McCain and his advisers are brilliant.

Look, a chick that hunts, fishes, holds a NRA membership for life and is hot to boot after what, 17 kids, is o.k. by me.

A pitbull with lipstick, I hope that was not scripted because that won me over right there.

But, agreed, the conventions are nothing more than Kool Aid sessions for the parties, all they are missing in Jimmy Jones.

It was interesting to see Palin and see what her speech writers would make her say. At least she looked good doing it.

If you think Palin is where it's at you've been drinking some of the kool-aid, she's a neo con nut job with a somewhat pretty face, but hey that's all most of america is interested in.

Liberals and neo cons are pretty much the same in my opinion, they never put their money where their mouth is, they say one thing, then when it takes some effort or god forbid money on their behalf they change their ******* mind and have all sorts of reasons for doing so, in short they are verbally committed to all sorts of wonderful things, but they have no intention of actually getting them done.

Palin is a joke, McCain and her both have said she's against earmarking, they have made a point to say that, the truth is she hired a lobbying firm to get 17 million in ear marks for a city with a population well under 10,000. She lied.... she even said she put a stop to a terrible ear mark... aka the bridge to nowhere, except she also lied here too, she ran for gov of alaska FOR the bridge to nowhere, then later said she was against, cancelled the project but KEPT the 233 million from the ear mark for "transportation improvements". She's also a scary religious zealot, but that's a different topic I don't feel like going into. I could go on for days about Palin, let's face the odds of McCain making it through the first term are slim, you vote for McCain/Palin plan on her crazy *** being president in the near future.

Obama is no different running on this crap change platform then picking the fourth longest sitting senator in the us, this is anything but change. biden is the same old **** that's been sticking it to us for last 30 years, but oh yea i'm for change. I haven't heard the asshat provide one solution or any game plan as to how he's gonna "change" a damn thing, let's not forget Bush was in fact a "candidate of change" he ran with a very similar slogan and he's nothing but a drunken idiot that wouldn't be fit to clean the toilets in any country where the system is a complete trash heap of debt strapped, un educated and mostly afraid citizens who are just trying to pay the bills.

But never fear registered voters cause there is no "right" choice this election, both candidates spell disaster and your friends in the media will help you decide what's best for you.

Agreed, on all points, go back and re read my post, more simply put she is a puppet on the Republican hand.

I am looking a this from a business stand point, do I want Obama who is going to tax the living **** out of me as a small business owner in a failing economy or do I want McCain who is going to put this country in more of a hole following the status quo of the earlier regime?

The answer is loose no matter what.

Change is NOT good, radical change in this economy will send up into a full blown recession possibly a depression, I can almost guaranty the later if the Democrats Jesus gets in office.

As the love doctors put it here in Florida, We are Screwed. There is no good choice, I liked Ron Paul, I thought he would be a good change, but what do I know.

There was a reason I sold my Porsche, I am selling my vacation home (contract pending ) and I am circling my wagons, I see really bad times coming. These are not bad times, thse are good times compared to whats coming.

I think Americans in general are oblivious to what is really going on, most of the major banks are about to collapse, the big 3 Automakers are closing down, America is for sale and is being scooped up at an unprecedented rate as I type this. Budweiser, gone, Chrysler Building in NYC gone, National Parks, gone.

Wait, Washington Mutual, Wachovia, Fannie and Freddie Mack are all in BIG trouble, I see it every day in my line of work, I am doing about 40 mortgage surveys a week as mostly international corporations are buying up property here in Florida, ALL of it foreclosed on and being sold for hundreds of thousands less than it was mortgaged for (and defaulted on) 2-3 years ago.

How long can this go one before the banks cave in, the funny part? No one knows this is going on, its not on the news, the presidential candidates dare not speak of it. Yet its going on every day, day in and day out.

There is a **** storm on the horizon and no one knows its coming.

I am going to flip flop here. The more I think about this Palin chick the more I like what I see. She is Blue Collar and a regular person that started getting involved to make changes, first with the PTA then working her way up to Governor. All the while her husband works on a commercial fishing boat (family business) and in oil fields.

You can hyper focus on one issue all you one, Earmarking for example, as I had it explained to me she dislikes it, she has used it and its one of those "norms" that you hate but if you do not use it you'll be screwed over. A necessary evil in a broken system?

Religious Zealot I love this one, everyone is so scared of the abortion issue. We had a co worker who voted a party line based on Gun Ownership in 2004 and then in 2005 was dealing with a 1 night stand that missed her period and he was screaming abortion so fast your head would spin, yet, he voted in a guy that was anti-abortion and look how that changed the abortion laws. (BTW - since you think you know me well you do not I do not go to church anymore and I do not consider myself religious) No one person is going to change the abortion laws in America. I can never understand how this becomes such a huge issue every 4 years then goes back away.

We are all so sick of these good old boys and their club in Washington, well, here is a chick that is not part of the establishment about to head into Washington and no one wants here.

I think it would be nice to see what I consider as close to a regular person as your gonna get int his circus get in the White House. Of course she is going to have to fall in line with McCain but as you indicate the old fart might die and then you have to wonder what she would do and would it be all bad or all good. Career politicians do not seem to be doing a very good job anyway maybe something fresh and new is needed?

Its too bad Ron Paul's campaign never grew legs.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.

Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.

"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."

Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.

Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.

"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."

The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."

I'll dig up some videos for you too.

I this quote from her speech

And among the many things I owe them is one simple lesson: that this is America, and every woman can walk through every door of opportunity.

I only need one question answered to prove this is complete horseshit. Does she think if she were an ugly woman she'd be standing up there? **** NO, McCain is a hideous old fool and he's standing up there.

I'm sorry but if you honestly believe woman get the same pay and opportunities as men regardless of their figure or looks you've been living under a ******* rock.
