You guys know I make the scoot replica hood but most people can't afford the price so I found the company oversea that makes them for Procar Parts. I imported 10 of them and to cut the story short, they don't fit well and the latch is too thick so the hood won't close.

After I swap the latch with the one I have for my own hood, the hood can close.

I just want to dump them out at $600. The hood comes with rain free trays and already bolted on the hood. I will swap the latch with ours so your hood can close and you get to keep the latch that came with the hood just for comparision.

The price is $600+shipping.

Shipping will be around $150 within the lower 48 States

I only have 10 in stock and I don't plan to import more.

Again, fitment is not great so please don't complain after you get it. I will post some photos tonight to show fitment.

Chuck I am interested. I'll wait for the pics and call you about it afterwards. Also, is this carbon fiber or glass?

Fd3BOOST 08-14-2003 09:05 AM

You have my interest also.

Again what are they made out of?

rotaryextreme 08-16-2003 09:41 AM

The hood is fiberglass. Here are some pix.

I am going to buy it. Needs a little work to fit tighter against the headlights but should be an easy fix with fiberglass.

I want one!!!

what does the profile of the hood look like? Is it all screwed by the rear corners of the fenders like the original Scoot?

Can you explain a little better? I don't really get what you mean. Sorry.

can this hood fit with a stock struts bar? Will the rain plate hit any engine parts?

Oops! I mean, where the hood curves up at the rear corners, against the cowl and fenders - I remember the original from your scoot hood purchase for the replicas that it was waaaaay off all over..

This hood can fit with the stock strut bar. If you want to use other kinds of strut bar, you will have to cut a slot on the center duct for the strut bar to go through.

It flares up a little around that area, just like the original.

The oversea manufacturer copied the original scoot hood without doing any kind of modification so it fits exactly like the original scoot hood I got before.

Shipping to you from LA will be $75. You will have to pay 8.25% sales tax though since you are in CA.

How long does it take to get up here? Also, what front bumpers do you carry that are urethane? I might take one of those too.

thanks

It will take 2 days after it's shipped.

No aftermarket bumper for the FD is made of urethane. The only thing that's close will be the INGS+1 hybrid aero front bumper which is made of flexible fiberglass.

Chuck, sent you a PM

SageFC 11-22-2003 02:13 AM

Houdin,

You can always have the hood shipped to our shop to save money.

Chuck we use Airborne Express, they are cheap out of state. California overnight is another good one for cali. One day service.

houdini 11-22-2003 03:33 PM

Thanks Rishie,

I think I'm going to hold off now until I get some other goodies first. I was going to get this done while my car was in the body shop(some 73 year old lady ran a red light and hit the front of my FD) but I found out it's too late, the shop is already too far into the repair. How's your new shop? Expect to see me soon, the car comes out of warranty in a month.

Thanks again

Hood
