I am shooting for next week on the pedestals, I have tweaked the desgin slightly giving it a smoother look to resemeble the OE more. I am still waiting for the O-rings, crush washers and plugs to get here they should be here any day.

I wanted to give you guys an update.



I decided to add new studs with the kit rather than reusing the OE studs. This will make installation easier since the oe studs can be a pita to remove, the studs should be here this Tuesday and the pedestal kits should ship out Wenesday or Thursday. Sorry for the added delay, I assure you will not be dissapointed.

one question... I don't have any gauges yet, do you include plugs for the temp/press fittings for when they're not used? or I can't install it until I get my gauges?

Yes this is a full kit, unlike all others that are just the pedestal or only include o-rings. The only items you need to supply for it is the gauges, new oil filter and oil. They come with:



-2 o-rings

-2 30mm Stainless steel studs

-2 Stainless NPT plugs

-2 Crush washers (FD3S only)

I also got mine today wohoo!! It's beautiful but I have a concern, it looks like the return line fitting is a press fit? Is it tight enough to not leak when heat expansion and oil pressure gets to it? Have you tested them?

Its actually threaded and lock tited, and yes they have been tested. I have been running it for approx 5 months and no leaks or problems.

I put mine on today, it's pretty damn snazzy. It was a PITA but I got it on. I took some pics of it I'll post in a little while.

Damn I guess I failed to mention that it was a PITA to install, sorry about that. I highly suggest if you have the engine out of the car to install it then, I made the mistake and forgot to install it and it took me a good 30mins to do it with the block in the car....... rather than a measly one minute if it were out.

The bell housing is what was pissing me off. I had two different wrenches out and I still couldn't find a good way to get that back bolt loose. I thought I was going to have to cut one of my wrenches in half so I'd have room to move it around back there. I'll be picking up a set of stubby's next time I'm at sear's...



Of course it didn't help when my wife got home and said, "I thought you were done with the car and were't going to be buying anything else for a while." I was already pouring sweat like crazy and fighting that bolt with oily hands... all while thinking why the **** am I putting this thing on anyway, I don't even have a use for it. Bottom line, it was worth it just for the extra lip so the oil filter will not puke oil all down the side of the engine when removed. I don't care if I ever use this thing for anything else, it was worth it just for that!

well looks like mine is the first to be screwed up, why wouldn't it be? I guess the greddy temp sensor does not work with this pedistal, I tightened it and I guess once it hit the center thing the center thing shifted and is now lose. Any ideas?

Well isn't that spectacular....now the center thing fell off after messing with it a little more. Not to scare anyone, but if you have a greddy temp sensor put a few washers over the threads and an o-ring on the end before trying to install it.



Looks like that used to screw into place, but theres no way that loc tight is gonna let me get the remaining threaded piece out.

That really sucks! It looks like it would have failed the first time you put the oil filter on tight too. Maybe you just got a bad one. I hope my center piece doesn't come off like that. It was too hard to install this thing, I'd hate to have to put the old pedestal back on... Hopefully he'll replace it for you.

Well I had it on and the oil filter was goin on crooked so i was like wtf? It shouldn't happen to you, I think it happened to me because the temp probe pushed against it a little bit.

I actually tested each one to besure of the proper fitment, and gave the oil filter shaft and oil cooler line bung a nice wiggle to be sure this would not be a problem. On my early prototype models both the oilfilter shaft and oil line bung will take any thing short of a strong blow with a hammer, I even tested to see if they were to be dropped it they would break, still only a strong blow of hammer did it in. The design has remained unchanged from the prototypes to the current design. I am sure this was just a defective unit that Scrub received.



As for the probe contacting the shaft, this should not have caused the problem, but please besure the temperature probe does not make contact with the shaft, doing so will result in false temperature readings. To be sure there is no contact, thread your sensor probe in by hand until tight, gauge the distance between the two and apply a minimum of 4 (possiblly more) wraps of teflon tape to seal and allow proper clearances.

Scrub, recieved the defective pedestal, your replacement pedestal was shipped yesterday morning.

This upgrade involves the permanent attachment of the filter thread and/or the banjo fitting on the replacement oil pedestal you purchased. This is a voluntary upgrade that will be performed free of charge for you our customer. A singular report of failure on the filter thread post was brought to our attention. We are unclear of all the circumstances related to this failure, but this upgrade is how all future pedestals will be manufactured. You may at your discretion and piece of mind remove the part and ship it back to us for update.
