No this is not an attack, but it will seperate the real the the copy one.

I think the other thread is going to turn into a REAL to REPLICA thing.

So since there was or is some interest Im still willing to help some people

out. I NEVER said the price was $600, we can always go less and with more

people I just need to know how many I go to RE-Amemiya and talk prices

Im sure we wont be $400 shipped, but we could get pretty damn close.

The last GB I paid twice as much for shipping and we sold them for $595.95 and I still made some cash, but its the holidays so of course we would hook it up extra special.

So anyway here is the pic, and just let me know if you interested. I mentioned a while back, if your short for cash and you think there maybe some interested, let me know and we can GB it.

OH for the record, I dont like replicas for myself, but I understand sometimes, so its all good, but I respect people when they just want to make it a little less expensive for the rest, NO SAY, mine is better, mine is stronger, mine is a way better design, when all they did was make a mold of the original and COPY it.

I figure if I dont have the money to buy it, then guess what? I dont buy it. Does everyone think you cant get replicas here? WRONG You can get them a SHITE load of places, but we dont deal with them.

Actually we have it on our webpage, the normal price is $920.95 shipped. You can save a couple bucks if you can pick it up from the local airport. Couple bucks= approx $100

FikseRxSeven 12-14-2003 11:53 AM

is this still gunna happen in february?

JT-Imports 12-14-2003 02:59 PM

If thats where the majority of people want it.

I have no problems for when it happens, holidays are just a little slow though

since its busy around here.

HDP 12-19-2003 10:47 AM

I really want a rear diffuser. I'm after good quality for the best price.

FikseRxSeven 12-29-2003 01:38 AM

when is the projected deadline date for this gb?

JT-Imports 12-29-2003 01:45 AM

Well with the fake one lingering, I dont know if there is enough interest.

remydrm 12-29-2003 10:39 PM

I WILL TAKE A REAL ONE OVER FAKE !!!!!!!!

All we need is 3 people in one general area that can all meet up.

So I know we have a couple people in Los Angeles for it

So if your in that area we might have a go for it.

just need 3 people in any general area that call all meet up at the airport or some meeting place.

remydrm 12-30-2003 06:12 AM

I can be there!

let me know 1 week in advance and its on. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

JT-Imports 12-30-2003 07:40 AM

I think you missed what I was saying.

If your where ever and there are 2 more people in your area, you can do a GB on it then, otherwise the price is normal.

remydrm 12-30-2003 01:52 PM

but since there doesn't seem to be any interest in my area, I'd be willing to join the gb in soCal. I have no problem going down to pick it up also.

r0t0r-rooter 12-31-2003 02:50 PM

Hi Jason,

I was just wondering (since I was already in the last GB for this diffuser)...

How do you tell that it's authentic? God forbid that I might sell it someday, but I want to be able to say that I have the read thing. I threw away the bubble-wrap & blue RE tape that it came with. I was hoping for a stamp of some sort somewhere on the inside (like i've seen several companies do) but I didn't come across any during the install.

Any ideas?

*btw, if you need me to help out in this in anyway, just let me know https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

JT-Imports 12-31-2003 08:16 PM

Actually RE-Amemiya usually puts a tag on it during the manufactuering. Their little emblem and then they seal it in with apoxy. I didnt look since I know mine is real when I installed it. Yeah I know yours is too. hehe

I talked to some companies about putting their mark on their bumpers and stuff and sealing it in making it harder to copy and you can tell real stuff from the fake stuff. Buyer confidence and satifaction.

remydrm 01-03-2004 11:46 AM

so what is the price for three people ?

is there three people interested in one area or better 2 more people in the Los Angeles area that are interested?

I would much rather get an authentic part if this is going to happen.

Thanks

JT-Imports 01-04-2004 06:23 AM

3 people in the same area for pickup would be

$625.95 shipped.

Since it might be brought up: the deal last time was a little better since I was able to have one central hub for 5 diffusers so that cut costs again. The last time we did this I believe it was $595.95 but I cant do it on 3 diffusers and unless I work some deals with RE-Amemiya which is possible..

gcthree 01-04-2004 09:25 PM

Jason,

The reason there is interest in a replica is that a piece of fiberglass is over $600!!! There's about 10 bucks worth of materials in the thing + layup of the stuff + shipping = someone is making a bunch of money on it. Also, this diffuser has been around for a while, so the mold costs were amortized a long time ago. This item should be selling for $400, at most.

JT-Imports 01-04-2004 10:23 PM

I dont have a problem with people making replicas. I wont buy them, since Im buying a name and a part of originality and design. If I wantes a cheap part I would make it in the garage. This thread was made for the buyers that DONT want the replica.

AH the magic info.

The part sells here for right around $400 (with my dicount). but there is this thing called shipping. The cheapest shipping for this odd shaped part is $300. with pickup from the airport.

so that would make is $700 for one. ok here goes... 3 people split the cost since only 3 can get in the box for the $300 shipping price tag, the shipping is split. Hints the price.

$600.. Well you might be thinking I only count $500 well humm I need to pay for a new box, shipping, packing, shipping to the airport, taxes and import taxes to the US so when its picked up so dont pay more money like some companies make you do.

hints $625.95 shipped that means I make about $25 a pop for the work.

JT-Imports 01-04-2004 10:28 PM

I wanted to add.

If I sold fake ones from over here, I would be making closer to $100 a pop, but I only sell the real deal...

gcthree 01-04-2004 11:00 PM

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for originality where it counts. A fiberglass panel under the back of your car? Hmmmm, who will ever know? So, I'm willing to compromise there, especially when the part can be had for $300 less. The $400 price in Japan is probably what we have in mind back here in the States. There must be a cheaper way to ship, no?

JT-Imports 01-05-2004 01:14 AM

sure I could strap it on my back and swim hehe

You can come for AUTOSALON 2004 and take it back FREE shipping

hummm what else........ thats about it..

If 4 wuld fit in a box that would help for another $50, but 4 people in Cali is tough, we just did 3 there a while back.

It doesnt stick out like a sort thumb like the PRO version, but people WILL see. I have one on my FD.

I'm interested. I'm not in any rush actually, just let me know when you want to do it. (San Francisco)

I've got a RE CF diffuser on my FC and had to take it off since it scraped all over the place, it doesn't look like it'll be a problem with this one, but should I worry at all?

Justin

neofreak 01-05-2004 01:51 PM

oh, and if I'd save on ordering more stuff at the same time, I'll do so. (FEED CF sideskirts for FD, FEED lip for FC maybe)

JT-Imports 01-05-2004 03:29 PM

No problem at all. That another reason I didnt get the PRO version, sometimes Japan parking spaces are shallow and its easy to nick the exhaust, but still the exhaust will hit first, VISE $600 worth of material. SS can handle a nick, but fiberglass I would rather not take the chance..

neofreak 01-06-2004 03:59 PM

Since there are going to be knockoffs of both RE diffusers, are there any other brands out there? I don't want to have one thats been copied.

JT-Imports 01-06-2004 05:28 PM

Yes sir....

Lots of them that havent been copied, I have to do some stuff this morning, but I will post some pics or something soon.

We are going to take to some companys about a little something that way it EASY and possible to tell the difference between the real and the fake without taking the part apart to see.

artowar 01-07-2004 10:24 PM

Jason, what do they make the real diffuser from? Is it regular fiberglass, or something more flexible?

JT-Imports 01-08-2004 12:50 AM

FRP....

Its pretty stiff though.

I have had mine for a year now I think and I have a bad habit of hitting parking bumps with my muffler when backing into spot due to it being too low. No problem on the diffuser its nice and safe..
