It rained almost all day.

Josh Fuckin Blair 05-02-2004 05:04 PM

I would've taken more pictures, but I was either in line for the autcross, swapping tires on my car, or it was pouring down rain. I wanted to take some shots of all the cars lined up. There were an unreal amount of cars there.

I didn't meet Jim, but I did pass him on the north-east side of Indy Sunday heading home. It was hard to recognize his car without it belching smoke. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Hope your plugs weren't fouling too bad waiting in line.

Even though it rained, it was still a blast to take on the cones.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Yeah, jim freaking flew.... I heard he turned a 47 or something????

It was great to see all the sevens....I was in my 8 this year, because my motor is out in my FC, but it will be there next year...

I'll work on getting my pics up as well. I need to get the in car video too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

I hear that. I was kinda put off when I saw the passanger Airbag, but once I started checking out the engine, all of that went away. That's a T66 for those that don't know or can't see, looked hella small to me.

LOL!! A little inside scoop. My car has not been tuned it has simply been slapped on a dyno and tuned to the point of making sure its running on the rich side. I only have about 1500 miles on a fresh street port. I does belch a lot of smoke doesnt it??

When we dyno'd it we had 11.5 or under AFR's all the way across the board. I had to keep the engine off in line as much as possible to keep the plugs from fouling.

Yes I ran a 47.xxx with the engine breaking up on the back slolom and my tires hydroplaning in the rain...... if only the sun was out the the course was dry......

Josh Fuckin Blair 05-03-2004 05:27 PM

I made the mistake of being behind Jim in the autocross line twice. I had to keep my windows up. It was stinky.

phinsup 05-03-2004 05:41 PM

LOL I saw an RX-8 pull right up on his ass, with all that gravel in the launch area I felt bad for him https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Josh Fuckin Blair 05-03-2004 08:51 PM

After going to this event, I really want to get a FMIC for my TII.

That was probably me.... blue one right? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif I didn't repeat that mistake. Fortunately I didn't hear anything hitting the hood.

And yes, it was very stinky. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I am really sorry about that.. We were trying to figure out a way to at least heat the rear tires so I would have some sort of traction. I tried doing a burnout on the initial takeoff but it just didn't help.

I know we warned someone to stay back one time.

Most of my launches I "tried" not to get too much wheel spin. That was really hard to do after you rolled through a water box.

Oh it is ok.. I'm not one to blame other people when I have a share in accountability. If I had my wits about me I wouldn't have pulled up so far. Like I said.. a mistake I didn't repeat. I think it is kind of funny looking back on it.

Somebody did apoligize to me in line when your exhaust was being messy though.. thought that was nice. I was feeling for you when I passed you on the other side of town and realized you had to drive all the way back to Florida!

SPD Racing FC 05-04-2004 05:18 PM

how many people showed up to this, sucks big time that it rained on you guys

LOL!!! That was me opologizing for Mazdadrifter. He took my car out. The plugs were fouling sitting in line I told him to rev up the engine and try to blow it out a little.

That drive was murder. I am still not 100%. We drove straight through. 12:30 in the after noon straight through to 6:30 the next morning. It got pretty flakey in the car at 4:00 in the morning near Orlando. That was a horrid drive. The only thing that kept me going was knowing it was gonna be warm at home.
