I keep getting this error message when I use MS Outlook to try and send emails. It tells me that a connection couldn't be established, and that I need to connect to a network... I am online, I can recieve just fine. My mail server setting are:
POP3: mail.nopistons.com SMTP: mail.nopistons.com User ID: sinful7@nopistons.com All that is correct, right? Uh, and this used to work just fine on my desktop, but not on my laprop.. now it won't work on either machine! Help! |
WTF are you talking about, just use Squirrel Mail.
|
WHAT THE ****... naw, I'm just playin'.
SMTP access through MS Outlook.. so I don't have to use the http access. Looks like it's working, sort of. I changed the setting that says "log on to incoming mail server before sending messages" and it seems to be better.. I think. |
Cool LOL, I really didn't know what you were talking about.

You need to check "Outgoing Mail Server Requires Authentication"
Then you can send off the mail server, I don't allow relays on my server cause it opens the door for serious spamming. |
Oh.. I did.. and I used my username and pass. When i tried to send emails, it would tell me to hook my computer to a network... I'm gonna call microfuck and tell them to shove a splintered broom handle up their ass.

what isp do you have? Some isp's will only allow you to send on their mail servers. earthlink is one of them.

Uh... AT&T. So if I flip the swith for SMTP authentication to ANYTHING other than "log on to incoming mail server before sending messages" it don't work. But it DID, and that's the weird thing. Nothing changed, just wouldn't work suddenly. Maybe it's a MS activation thingy, I've been having problems with XP ever since I upgraded to a 120 GB HDD. Hey, yeah... just maybe...
