I know that a s4 will fit into a fb fit I change out the front cover to allow for the front mount but will every thing else from the gsl-se match up and fit fine? What intake gasket should I use to match the gsl-se's intake to the 87 block? I know the exhaust manifold will fit fine. Will the injectors, fuel rail, and wiring harenss hook up/mount fine? If there is anyone with experience with this swap please give me some suggestions?

the only thing that doesnt work, is that the air pump passages on the s4 motor are in the end housings, instead of the center like every other rotary. so translation it wont pass smog.

good news is that the ports are bigger, so it makes more power

i had an -SE like this

Thanks for the info. Did u just use the s3 intake gasket? I've seen that it's quite a bit cheaper than the s4. Also, how much would I have to convert over to use the s4 intake and throttle body but keep the s3 injectors(blocking off the s4 secondary injectors, i presume), no acv/emissions, and possibly keeping the s3's a/f meter. I'm trying to get my 7 back on the road as quickly and cheaply as possible but last longer than the worn out s3 motor i received from a parts car(approx 3,000 miles of usage for me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR ). I have a 87 s4 long block available to buy....might or might not change out the coolant and oil seals. It's been sitting for years.

use the gsl-se gasket, i think the s4/5 gasket leaves a teeny bit uncovered.

the fc intake goes right on, you just have to figure out how to block off the secondary injectors, or use em

j9fd3s-

Sorry to question you again but will the oil pump and chain from the gsl-se work on the s4 motor? Or is the s4's better?
