Hello guys,

I know that this has been covered before but almost all links regarding this swap are dead and pics are gone...I come in peace, please dont blow me up with flames :p

My Chassis: 85 GSL w/ dead 12A

[attachment=45763:DSC02460.JPG]

Engine is 88 13B, but is missing some parts, so far EGR, CAS, Starter, elbow that meets the TB to intake piping, leading coil pack? more?,

[attachment=45764:DSC02465.JPG]

[attachment=45765:DSC02482.JPG]

I've bought both hayes manuals for FB and FC, waiting on FC. I've downloaded both FSM. Ive searched and learned:

Use the 12A front cover to keep engine mount where they are

I'm using the FB transmission/ clutch

I'm going to modify the crossmember rather than buy the RB or Mazdatrix one

12a carb fuel pump is not strong enough (i bought a fuel pump assembly from FC)

Questions:

I understand how to mount the engine but the electrical and vacumn stuff/fuel stuff is what is getting me right now.

I have the engine harness (2 yellow connectors) small and med size on ecu, what about the longer plug, do I use my FB wiring harness there...is it plug and play or do I need to source the plug and soder in my existing wires from my harness?

[attachment=45766:DSC02471.JPG]

[attachment=45767:DSC02474.JPG]

Does the FC ecu mount in the same place as the FB?

Is the intank pump the FB has good enough? I bought the external pump from an 88 rx7...other than the fuel pump and assembly is there anything else I need to do... Relays, lines, ect?

Do all my FB accessories mount on the 13B since I'm using my front cover? I have the 13B air pump, alt, and PS thingy

I'll start with this...any links to writeups or info I greatly appreciated...

Hey guys, I know that alot of people have done this swap but this is my first time with this one. Can you give me some help?

I plan on doing a very thourough writeup during my swap to help people with future swaps

as youve noticed, 2 of the three ecu plugs go right from the motor to the ecu, so it plugs right in

the FC ecu should go where the 12a emissions control unit went, under the passenger carpet.

the other plug on the ecu needs to be put in the car, as the 12a doesnt even have something equivalent, if you are looking at diagrams, you may only need about 5-6 wires, depending on how crazy your smog is

for the fuel pump, the FB is external, and there are many options, simplest is just to run the factory GSL-SE pump assembly

that 3rd larger plug will control the cas and coils, you will need it unless you are using a dizzy,

my ? is the n327 a turbo ecu or s5n/a, cause it sure looks like a s4n/a

i would get a walbro external pump. the stock se pumps are kinda junk and a new one is expensive. im gonna be doing prety much the same thing eventually to my se. all the smog crap is not nessasary unless you have an emissions test(i dont) for the vaccume lines the maine ones are for the fpr and the omp fitting spider. there are other lines for the idele crap but its not that nessasary if you arnt trying to use the AC.
