Im sure it's been in everybodys mind. dropping a renesis in a 2nd gen.

Mounts? wiring? clutch conversions? drive shaft? other than the obvious what has to be done?

With the n/a power from the rensis, it should be worth the time and effort and money.

280 flywheel with the jdm flashed ECU.

Anyone out there in rotary land working on this project let us see some pics/info on this topic. so we can start stomping on all the motor swapped civics.

Also, does anyong out there make intake manifolds for the renesis? or is there a way to fit a 3rd/2nd gen one on there. damn plastic crap on the 8 in horrible.

Thanks for you time.

I think the question is why bother? By the time youve spent that amount of money, you can have youself a decently fast TII. Too much aggravation would be involved as well, with the wiring harness, motor mounts, d/s, etc. Theres another thread about doing this somewhere around here.

Because with a renesis in there it would be:

more reliable, higher revving, better on gas, and very original.

with it being quieter (renesis' are CONSIDERABLY quieter) you have yourself a sleeper.

and no one really expects a fast n/a.

also, some people prefer all motor to turbo.

especially for scca.

Just learn to port your n/a, now and whats up with posting pictures everytime you post something? is that the cool thing to do now? Also, the new rx-8's are quieter because off all the emisions and bent piping. It you were to put straight pipes on it'd be loud.

I agree... it is definitely worth the time and money

porting, if you didnt know. reduces reliability and most times, needs tuning. also reduces gas milage. And in order to make enough power with your s4/s5 n/a motor, a lot of work has to be done. basically a race built motor. wich sucks for a daily driver. and what good is a car if its for track only...no good. with a renisis you could leave people standing still and still have the the feel of a daily driver.

and as for the pictures, I like them.

sell your NA buy a TII https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png thats what i did

Tessai 11-04-2005 04:55 PM

Wait, first you say its for SCCA, now you say its for a daily driver?

And honestly, the renesis isn't impressive enough to go through all the work to get it into an FC... its a fly by wire system, and the ECU freaks out if you so much as disconnect the climate control. I'd probably be cheaper in the long run to just buy a used RX-8.... you get 2 extra seats.

But if you want to be the first, be my guest.

I think it bolts right up to the TII Trans with the Ren flywheel.

had one...well, N/A converted to high compression turbo. but I want an N/A FC. and a renesis FC vs. turbo II...Renesis FC hands down faster, more reliable, and 10 times cooler.....theres a hundred reasons to do this. so if you dont think its a good idea. dont post. dont even click on this thread.
