For a long time now i'v had an 88 GTU sitting in my garage collecting dust with the engine's apex seals or the coolant seals blown.. and i bought a 89 TII engine that i wanted to drop inside but i ended up finding out that it was going to be overly problomatic with all the wireing and all.. and i just had an idea.. IS it possible to take off the turbo, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, all the hoses and just basically leave the core and just replace the core rotary and screw everything on.. would it all just screw on there, or would there be alot air leaks.. or what.. please tell me if u understand my question. Your help will be very valuable thanx guys.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Are you asking if its possible to throw the manifolds, turbo, etc. off the turbo motor onto your N/A motor?

Possible, yes. Its a project I hope to undergo shortly, when I finish acquiring a few more parts. However, you'll need a few more parts from the turbo car. Boost sensor and ecu to name a few, and this is for just doing a basic swap over. Personally I'm going with a front mount intercooler and larger secondary injectors (720s) and an SAFC-II to control the fuel at first. As I go to up the boost, I'll go to a full stand-alone EMS.

There's a thread or two about "turboing an N/A engine" in the 2nd Gen Archives, you might want to browse them a bit and/or run a search on that section.

I have been told it is a bad idea because the N/A motor has very high compression.

It's all in the tuning, and has been successfully done quite a number of times, although most of the posts I've seen on it are on the "other" forum.

Well i actually, i was thinkin the opposite. i want to leave my car naturally aspirated. but i wanted to use the TII engine but drop the turbo, intake and exhaust manifold and probably sell those or something.. i just wanted to use the core becuase i heard that the TII have lighter rotors... so is that possible?
