Hey, I have a 1991 13b that Im trying to convert to a carburator, anyone knows where I can find an intake. Thanks ahead.

I know Racing Beat used to sell them... i think it's www.racingbeat.com
BTW, Why are you going carb? and where in SC are you? |
Is the vehicle turbo? Carbs are a real bitch to get dialed in correctly. Much better of doing EFI, especially since used E6ks are in the $600 range..

This sounds cool is it na or turbo and if turbo are you going to do a blow thru setup?

Re: Going carb
I have a 87 I had running carb'd for a bit with a jay-tech intake and holley carb and it was a total pita I spent a good amount of cash converting now im going back to efi I would really consider weighing in the pros and cons of what you want to do before commiting to carb.

Re: Going carb
I have a 13b with a peirce manifold intake and a 45 dcoe weber. It runs like a raped ape, with nice road manners. if you use a wideband afr the weber is very easy to tune. I am currently building a 20b with triple webers :naughty:

Re: Going carb
My experience with carbs is mostly limited to bikes, but that makes this point all the clearer:
Even as bike carbs became far more advanced in their tuning ability than typical carbs, they were still left with a void that only fuel injection filled. Even the best tuned carb in the world only performs ideally under a perfect set of circumstances. Fuel injection is far more adept at dealing with changes from the optimal tuning. And carbs are generally a bitch and a half to tune without a significant amount of experience. |
Re: Going carb
Carb tuning is becoming a lost art. Not many people do much better with fuel injection. Building a carb is much more than changing jets. U have to make many parts to get good street able reliable results.
I have a great setup ill share with you, just message me. I consider myself one of the best with carbs and will help u if u want it. I've built some 13 sec non turbos and helped build 2 430whp blow throw monsters. I sold my last car after my divorce and just started a new build. I hope to have the turbo on buy end of summer. |
