hi i am new to the boards i tried to do a search for this topic but i couldent find any thing. i was thinking of starting a project car, and a friend told me that an NA fc would be good because a tt FD swap would be cake. is this true and if so what parts will i need.

Thanks,

I can be done fairly cheap. The only way I would do it is if then engine fell in my lap. Otherwise I would search out a 13B-RE and swap that in. Less custom parts that way.

I did the swap. Here is a thread about my swap.

whats everyones deal with the 13BREW being the ultimate 2 rotor engine.

wouldnt a S5TII or 13BRE with similar mods make similar if and be a less expensive project?

Tighter tolerance on the rotors.

Bigger intake ports.

Hardened stat gears.

Higher oil pressure (stock).

Bigger TB.

Baffled oil pan (stock).

Better wear coatings.

Sure, any other 13B turbo motor can be prepped to perform similarly.

it doable and cheap if you can do it your self but if you want a shop to do it for it it will cost you around 2500 for labor plus motor plus frontmount plus the stand alone ECu so all together around 6500 grand.

if you spend 6500 in a Na youll be puting out twice more power then doing that stock swap.

I considered doing it because i have the FD motor but for me it was too much and not enough power for the money spend.

But there are some people that have it done.

Most people that decide to build up a 13BT for higher HP usually swap in all FD internals then port the hell ou tof it to make similiar #'s as a street ported REW. That is why I chose to swap in the REW 400RWHP and its not even being pushed.

I dunno about "not being pushed" - any 13B 2-rotor pushing 500 is being pushed.

It all ends up being a matter of hardened gears, etc.

If you want something "not being pushed", you should've went 20B... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Over a year at 400RWHP countless Autocrosses and street abuse without a problem. I dont expect a problem from it either. Call it pushing it if you want but I have it tuned with conservative Timing and super rich fuel. Add in the fact that I run a small turbo usually at 12 PSI (15 PSI is on hand) then look around at all the guys running T-78's and other large turbos with 500RWHP.......... I would say I am not pushing mine.
