I have a 1982 Rx-7 and was wondering if you can swap out a 82 engine with a 93 without any mods to the engine conpartment?

I've seen it done quite a few times, but it's not a simple bolt in affair.

It does look sweet in the body.

It can be done, but im at about $7k right now including the motor, Im at about 85% completion. Still maybe another 1k or so to go... It will not bolt in and its not a lot of fun. The motor is the best part of the car. The stock crap controlling it sucks.

Hey Skicker, should be able to get away without modifing the bay.We've got a couple of gen ones over here with 20B's in the engine bay. One of the mottos in my workshop is nothing's impossible. I believe the gearbox may need a new crossmember and I'd probably upgrade your diff, a Lsd would be handy but I'm not sure if they swap between your models[GSEle?] Something about axles? there is a 13BREW in a first gen around runs about 590rwhp..... it is completely modified though and like everyone said not a bolt in requiring lots of modification. if you have the time and $$$$ it will be worth it in the end https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
