i was wondering if anybody might be able to give some insight on the mounting configuration of the 13b-re as compared to the 13b-rew. could it be mounted in there? i dont know what the mounts look like so i cant say. . . . thats why im asking. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

it is different........................ i don't know anyone that put one in a FD...... why not just use a FD engine ?
|
cause the RE is a cheaper j-spec motor and it has nicely sized ports. if the mounts can be made cheaply then it might be a conscideration. im just pondering. . . thats all.

you can if you swap the rear housing and front cover it will go right in

just rebuild your FD engine. I HATE JSPEC ENGINES..................................hate hate hate. always rebuild so you know what you are getting!

How is the market for aftermarket parts on those things? Wouldn't it be a hassle to mess with all that? Not sure...Just wondering. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Vosko loves JDM motors. The RE is awesome ass engine but for your application just buy a rebuild for the REW there is many adavatages between the 2 other than intake port size and Upper intake manifold. The FD throttles body is a good upgrade on the RE engine tho.Cosmos have small Throttle bodies on them.RE and REW are internally the same from what I remember on them.If I can remember you need the FD CAS to drop it in your car and make sure the compression is good.I hear lots of bad stuff about cheap JDM engines and having low compression then people start them and die about a month later on them and can't figure it out.

JUST SAY NO TO JSPEC ENGINES!
