Post up your map, i'd like to take a look. Maybe i'll see something out of place.

vosko 08-15-2003 12:55 AM

i'm 99% sure its not a tuning issue....

I'm not sure how Ito did your marks on your main pulley, but I could swear the ignition settings in the E6K for the FD was 67 degree trigger angle, # of teeth 24, tooth offset 5.

yah, just becareful boosting it. the rx8 when the engine is under 500 rpm just randomly sparks and randomly fires the injectors, to get it started, so even if its off it should run

vosko 08-15-2003 01:54 PM

when i go home from work i'll try it

BDC 08-15-2003 04:10 PM

I vote for getting ahold of Ito and finding out what those marks are. From there, time it accordingly and make sure it's zero'd out. Unless you've got an aftermarket pulley or front hub or something, I don't see why the trigger settings shouldn't be 67, 24, and 5. According to what I know on the FD, they have a crank trigger wheel that is bolted down to the front hub w/ the same assymetric bolt pattern the pulleys are and the timing cannot be natively adjusted.

vosko 08-15-2003 04:28 PM

well its a stock pulley. i'm gonna change the timing and rev it and see if its better

94touring 08-15-2003 04:36 PM

Except you probably won't notice anything by revving it. If anything it will idle poorly if the timing is screwed up too much to start with.

vosko 08-15-2003 05:22 PM

it idles a bit weird .......

when i locked timing to zero idle smoothed out

vosko 08-15-2003 06:49 PM

the timing light is my friend

vosko 08-15-2003 07:30 PM

one setting was wrong under ignition settings.... switched it. gotta take it for a drive now. crossing my fingers!
