turborotor came over and i piloted and he tuned.........redid my ENTIRE MAP. car is so much smoother now. it feels as fast as 10 psi and as it used to @ 15psi.......still more fine tuning to go but its MUCH better. thanks again carlos!

also i found i had no shifter bushing so installed my mazdatrix metal bushing. shifting is MUCH improved. we'll see if i can get into 2nd gear without grinding tomorrow if there is no rain https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

rx794 07-22-2003 11:41 PM

That's great Vosko, let us know how it turns out.

rx7machine 07-22-2003 11:42 PM

Great news vosko.

vosko 07-23-2003 12:00 AM

yeah it took long enough. one man tuning is way too hard. i'm going to return the favor when we tune his car. i get to drive again https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

rx7machine 07-23-2003 12:09 AM

So, is your FD to the 100% mark yet?

it is much better but not 100% we only tuned for like two hours with a fresh map!

rx7machine 07-23-2003 12:33 AM

Oh ok, as long as you're making progress.

kahren 07-23-2003 02:00 AM

vosko 07-23-2003 11:42 AM

i gotta see if i feel like going to 17psi on pump gas..... maybe we will tune up to that

TyresmokinRx7 07-23-2003 11:49 AM

Go an even number, go 20psi

j9fd3s 07-23-2003 11:50 AM

yah, go do it!

mike

vosko 07-23-2003 12:16 PM

17-18 psi is ok for pump gas. i dunno about 20psi on 93 octane. i am not that crazy yet

It's do-able but on the bleeding edge, especially on the higher comp 9.0:1 rotors you FD guys use. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Hey Vosko, what injector and fuel pump/FPR setup are you running?

B

vosko 07-23-2003 01:26 PM

750/1680's

sx external fuel pump

sx FPR

sump

ss braided fuel line from sump to tank

i just want to run a little more boost than 15psi!

Did you and your navigator tune it with a wideband?

Good, good. I wouldn't mind checking out your map if you don't mind.

this map looks normal compared to my other one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

enzo250 07-27-2003 10:32 PM

it takes a long time to get a car 100% tuned.

Glad to hear that it's running much better

88fc3sw/hx83 07-28-2003 02:13 AM

Vosko,

Good to hear you're getting results.

vosko 07-28-2003 07:48 AM

i still have many more hours of tuning just gotta wait for turborotor to come up again and tune while i drive https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

turborotor 08-01-2003 01:27 AM

I"m glad i could help. It was fun going 120 the second time when is dry.

DId you figure out why the dip at 6k rpms

94touring 08-01-2003 01:48 AM

Ahhh you guys worry too much about 17-18 psi. I ran 18psi for a couple years just fine. Hell a few times I was at 20psi without realizing it. Crank that turbo up Vosko and see what it does.

94touring 08-01-2003 01:50 AM

Oh and Vosko I know you like to run crazy high timing, so if you go up to 18psi turn it down to at least 15 degrees please.

vosko 08-01-2003 09:57 AM

my timing is set VERY low right now. i currently having a misfiring problem @ 15 psi above 7k rpm. i actually had it this ENTIRE time.... i just thought it was tuning and not a hardware problem :(

i think my coils MIGHT be shot.... POS FD coils

that could work.............. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR

j9fd3s 08-01-2003 10:07 PM

are you using the original fd coil? maybe you should try an fc one?

mike

vosko 08-01-2003 10:20 PM

yeah i am using my original 97k mile FD coils.......i might go MSD coils

j9fd3s 08-01-2003 11:43 PM

yeah those fd coils go bad sometimes

mike

vosko 08-02-2003 01:17 AM

so i have heard. they are crap compared to FC coils

setzep 08-03-2003 10:56 AM

The FC coils I'm using don't miss a beat up to the rev limiter (8300)
