My FC has got a bunch of mods on it, and its almsot time for the EMS leap (well at the very least a piggy-back fuel computer)



My major concern is the lack of rotary tuners here in the CT area, which leads me to consider what would the consequences be of a "screw-up" during a tuning session. For example, if I go to a local shop and get S-AFC tuning done, and the tuner screws up - where the engine blows. Either right there on the dyno, or at a later time...who's liable?



I dont really know the answer, but if the tuner does not carry any liability, then why would anyone go to these supposed experts? My guess is that with expertise there must be some sort of accountability. Is this true for the tuning industry?

well if they do something really dumb they should at least be willing to help, otherwise unless you sign papers to the contrary you're on your own

Yeah, you're pretty much on your own when it comes to tuning. There are so many variables that can lead to catastrophic failure when increasing engine output, I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find a shop that will warranty the tuning and consequenstial damages. If you can find someone that is capable of working with a rotary and familiar with things like spark split, you should be ok.
