Just taking a poll, who has haltech. Also if it is installed and working.

Also what model ECU, e6k, F5, ect...

Let us know if it is working on a car or just sitting on your desk.

I have an E6K which I installed myself. It was a lot of work gathering all the resources needed to properly install and tune the ecu but it was well worth it.

I have an e6k. For anyone building a serious high horsepowered rx7, it is a must have.

I got a question too. Where did you get your Haltech, and how much $ did you spend?

turborotor 12-30-2001 11:16 PM

Take advantage of a group buy when you see one. I got my that way. Got it 1050 shipped to my door with 3bar map sensor. had to get the connector kit seperate.

Yea, that's about what I paid too. Were you in on that group buy I organized early this past year?

I put a Haltech E6K in my '78 Kelmark GT(ferrari 246 look alike) that is powered by a '87 TurboII. I researched everything out there and the Haltech was the best value for what it does. I'm really new to computers(yes, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!), so the computer part was the hardest.

The book was a little general, but there is a lot of help out there on the internet. After I got mine installed I couldn't get it to inject fuel. Thinking it was the fuel system and not the maps that came with the unit, I took the fuel system apart over 10 times checking everything out. Arturo of Chile(my hero!!) came through with a modified Hitman map and it started the first time!

I love having my muscle car friends over and showing them how I tune my car without raising the hood! I don't get my hands dirty, just tap, tap on the old 486 laptop! I kind of feel sorry(NOT) for them, having to bend over their hot as hell V-8s to wrench on it.
