i'm in the process of installing my pfc unit. i just don't know if i need to use the brackets that were attached to the factory ecu. i don't like the idea of drilling holes into the ecu, so should i just use the patch of velcro that was provided? i figure i could just stick the velcro onto the kick panel. would that be enough to secure it?. plus the bigger bracket that was on top of the factory ecu will not allow the commander to be plugged in, the hole will be covered up. thanks for your help

Use the velcro, on the car its self. Then it will keep it in place NO problem
plus the kick panel being over it, you wont have an trouble |
thanks jason. there is a somewhat clear plastic piece behind the ecu. would it be ok to attach it there? (the velcro)

Yeah not on the plactic. Its best to plug in the ECU since the wires are short
and you can see which way the ECU wants to go. Then just velcro it up. I have mne attached to the car for almost 2 years, no problems. |
I cut a notch in the stock ecu bracket and attached the PFC in place of the stock with the velcro.

truth be told, i bent the piss ouf my bracket, and the pfc was just placed there

i just re-attached the bottom bracket, and put 2 patches of velcro at each end of the ecu.... then another small one on the 'back of the ecu. it holds it pretty good, so i'm not too worried about it.
