I was informed that my TPS was out of wack!! can someone confirm...
I got these readings w/ the key turned to ACC and the motor off... I'm trying to figure this out.. but here is what the service manual says.. 3F Throttle Sensor (narrow range) - Accelerator pedal released - 0.75 - 1.25 - Accelerator pedal fully depressed - 4.8 - 5.0 *Ignition switch ON *After warm-up 3G Throttle Sensor (full range) - Accelerator pedal released - 0.1 - 0.7 - Accelerator pedal fully depressed - 4.2 - 4.6 *Ignition switch ON *After warm-up http://www.jayspec7.com/myrx7pics/powerfc/pfcs2.jpg |
If this is with the gas pedal pushed in all the way then it's a good reading, if you didn't then your TPS is broken.... Also the block is highlighted and that also means that the power FC is getting a error from the TPS Sensor...

the TPS is a 5v referance signal, it reads 0-5v. if the TPS is wide open you should get a reading close to 5v, if you are off the gas pedal it should have a reading close to .37-.65 volts. If the TPS is not reading as you press the pedal one of two things have happened, either the TPS sweep has a glitch in the potentiometer or the signal wire is not feeding current. easiest way is to plug a multimeter (Fluke) into the TPS wiring harness with the key on and measure the voltage as you open and close the throttle.

ok.. i forgot to add... i was goin to send my throttle body to get polished... so I made an attempt to take it apart.... I took the TPS housing off along w/ the TPS sensor... but then put it back... so maybe it's just off??

"Didn't you get the memo? It's just that we're putting cover sheets on all the TPS reports from now on."
Had to. |
