Ok I am starting to get my car more road tunned, the Hitman's Map is way too rich so I am tuning it down.
So far I have found this. Target for Iddle: 11.9 - 14.1 Target for Light throttle and Cruise 13.9 - 15.1 Target under boost 0-5psi: 12.9 - 11.9 Target for Boost 5-10 psi: 12.5 - 11.3 Target for Boost above 10psi: 12.1 - 11.1 Now that is just what I have found through searching for days, could those of you with experience please post whether those are good ranges or not. I realize the best method is to both Dyno and Road tune, however I want to get a good Road tunned map before getting on the dyno so please help me tune via WB02 and EGT. So please guy's post any changes you think should be made to the above ranges, or your suggestions/methods. Thanks In Advance Jeffrey |
i've been told, and had good luck with
12:0/1 at idle 11.5 /1 under 5psi 11 / 1 over 5 psi 10.5 / 1 over 15psi it ultimatley depends on how confident you are in your fuel system. If it's rock solid, then you can go a touch leaner (maybe like 0.5 or .75 leaner) and make a touch more power, but you'll be that much closer to disaster if you get a lean spike. also you can grab your couple cruising rpms and lean them out a touch for a couple more mpg, but make sure it doesn't effect your map when under load. |

yeah, I went with 12/ 1 when my engine temp compensation wasn't fine tuned just yet. I really didn't notice a change in idle until I got to about ~13.5/1, then (FOR ME) the idle suffered. |
why so rich, the stock mazda ecu never goes below 11.2 AFR? like 10.5 seems to be a little too rich. Can anyone explain why you would go that rich, I mean my WB02 only goes from 10.1 to 17.9... 10.1 is super rich? no?
Thanks |
stock mazda doesn't go over 15 psi. 15 psi requires even more of a safety margin.

true, Now I ask my 12.3 afr at iddle with a large street port my car smokes like craxy and stings the eyes, what are your exhaust fumes like at what AFR are you running at at iddle.
|
At idle I run 13.XXX a/f. Running leaner than that and I have idle surge problems. Richer than that and my car smells worse than it normally does.

i run the following:
idle: 12:1-12.8:1 , you can go leaner, but then the idle tends to get "weak" as in it will stall for no reason even though it seems to idle ok. it also might be dependant on porting, stock porting needs to be rich, a street port can be a little leaner cruise: 14-15.5, you're wasting fuel if its any richer, much leaner and it will buck 0 manifold: 13ish this is where you want to start making power, the factory ecu runs closed loop here, but it prolly worth a little power to richen it up 1-5psi: 12.8-11.5 mixture isnt critical here, you want it a little richer down low and leaner up top 5-10 psi: factory is in the low 11's high 10's here, and i just do the same |
Thanks Guy's for your input, it is appreciated.
anybody else want to add their targets? |
