I just installed an SAFC on my 88 TII and now the car won't start. I got it to start once, but it was idling real rough. I followed the install instructions given in the manual and http://1300cc.com/howto/how2/safc.htm, so I'm pretty sure I've got it setup right, but if someone could point me in the right direction, it'd be appreciated.

Ok... couple things. #1 : did the car run okay BEFORE you installed the SAFC? If you did other things to the car before the SAFC then that throws a monkey wrench in the works. #2: Check the air correction on the SAFC gauges panel (it has a mode where you can see what the air flow meter is reading and what the SAFC is outputting and the % correction). Make sure its zero for now. #3: Also, recheck your wiring and make sure that you got your grounds right... one of them needs to be closer to the ECU by at least 1 cm than the other. Why I don't know but it DOES make a difference.

Yeah, the car ran ok before installing the safc--I was trying to think ahead...I've got 720cc injectors and a coupla other things that need to go in, but I'm doing one thing at a time to try and make sure I don't screw anything up.

I'll check on #2. #3--I triple checked the wiring and the gound is setup correctly with the correct ground wire ~ a cm in front of the other ground wire(dunno why that would make a diff, but I followed the dirs on that anyways).

I'm pretty sure they are, but I've no experience with this so I'll be triple checking that in the morning. I used the settings on 1300cc.com in addition to following the manual.

on the instructions be careful, there are some wires that you sever, some wires you just scrap the shielding off of and "tap into" without ever cutting the wire itself.

I'f i remember correctly the only wire that you actually sever is the afm wire. Everything else is just taken for reference, so the wire is not cut.

I checked the wires again and soldered all of the crimp on connections. That fixed it. Thanks.
