Anyone have any thoughts on the AEM ECU that just came out. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

good?

bad?

problems?

From what I've seen It's a great upgrade

I've had NO experience with them. This SHOULD go to the ECU forum, but it can stay until traffic dies down....I think the 3rd gen forum probably gets more traffic anyways. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

it looks good but i heard its a little too advanced for a novice user. i would personally wait till i heard first hand experience! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I'm extremely happy with my Power FC and plan on sticking with it. Tuning is difficult as it is; I'm staying away from such an unknown quantity.

We've been having very good luck with the AEM ECU's. True, I would not recommend it for the novice user, or something that wants to get in the car and go. It takes several hours of tuning on a daily basis. It is "Plug and Play" but more like "Plug and Start." One nice thing they just released in their new software is their automap feature. If you purchase a Wideband o2 setup and integrate it into the AEM system, you can set a/f ratio per rpm/throttle and it will take samples for each cell as you are driving and slowly adjust each cell. It can also controll boost via GM Boost solenoid or AVC-R Solenoid. So if you have any fuel controllers, timing controllers, boost controllers, you can sell them off to make up the difference. Some people actually made back the cost doing that. It also has full datalogging capabilities. They also have excellent tech support. If you're a serious tuner, I would DEFINITELY recommend this system.

interesting ! thanks for taking the time to answer that since obviously none of us has any real experience. i have only used the powerFC and haltech e6k on my FD. i am used to tuning my car every day with the e6k although my car is nothing like stock :bigthumg:

Thanks for the Info Joe. Sounds like a good unit for someone with some tuning knowledge.
