Having a problem. When my boost comes on my motor leans out. It's not poping or running back, but I back out when I see my A/F meter drop.
Here is a sample of a data log I ran today. rpm psi Throt % Air F Inj mS Duty % Advan BTDC A/F mV 4520 0.9 33 98 8.608 36 25 747 4520 1.8 36 98 4.488 40 25 643 4640 3.3 38 99 4.624 36 23 96 4760 3.4 46 99 5.040 39 21 13 See the problem? I have checked my fuel pressure and it's a solid 40 PSI all the time. My injectors have been serviced and blueprinted. (Stock 550cc units). I can't figure out why it's dropping out so. |
What does the fuel map look like? You're running a Haltech E6K?

Yes Haltech E6K. I'm set for stagged and one is 30in Vac to 0 and the other starts at 0 PSI and goes to 30. Increasing through out the map for both. Stagging bar number is 12 which is right when the boost starts. So that could be the problem. Weird that a set of injectors would blueprint out fine. The motor doesn't stumble or stutter one bit. I've driven a stock Rx7 with a bad set of 2ndries and it fell on it's face at about 4000 RPM when they were suppose to come on. A swap of the injectors determined that. I guess I'll try the same thing here. |
i would move the staging bar a little and then just richen it up, its only running 40% injector duty, you have tons of room for more fuel

I'll try that now and let you know. I did check my harness @ the haltech and all 4 of the injectors have about 14 ohms across them. |
where is this map from?

You are correct... Just remapped and took it for a spin... Running on 2 injectors it runs AWESOME. Never went LEAN. Looking at my datalog I have a few times I hit 100% duty cycle @ 4500 RPM, but my o2 sensor never showed under 800mv. So WTF RC Engineering? I sent them all 4 of my injectors and 2 are bad? |

The map is one I ran previously. It's a tweaked version of MATT (HITMAN's) RX7 T2 Map. I tried another map as well, but it was a little more conservative on the fuel curve. |
you might wanna see if the secondary injectors arent stuck.
on the map: i guess whatever you did on this last rebuild worked, if the engine is flowing more air, it needs more fuel... |

Spoke to Carol today @ RC and she is going to take all 4 of them back and reclean and check them at their cost. Note: She says when cleaning injectors they need to be run within 30 days of being cleaned or the possibilty of them sticking exists. For me I had them cleaned when I started my motor rebuild (Spring) and didn't fire it up until Summer. |

Great time. I do have a pressure gauge on my fuel rail (as it feeds my NOS nozzles via a solenoid) so I waited a few days for the pressure to show Zero. Then lifted everything up and threw a cup under one of the injectors as I pulled them. |

Got my injectors back. They said there was nothing wrong with them, but went a head and cleaned them again and changed the filters.
They are all flowing 550 +/- 1 cc I'll get them back in the motor this weekend. I did check the wiring at the ECU and was good to there. So I hope my Haltech doesn't have a problem... :( |
