hello people sorry im new here
just picked up a fd3s before xmas it come with a power fc not fitted basicly i was given bothe the apexi power fc ecu and controller the ecu looks secound hand can i pulg in and use it or do i have to have it dome by speciliests?? i have downloaded the comander manual but didnt know if there is a standard setting i can program it to or if i can plug in and it automaticaly goes back to standard settings or what well thanks for your time people |
How stock is your car? If you are still on twins and not ported you are probably ok just plugging the PowerFC in and performing a reset on it.

ok mate thanks for your time
its fully standard lol was a early xmas pressy for me shall plug and play now is there like settings on it as well to say its a rotor engine not piston or should it just pick up straight away |
ok have a major problem now.
i dissconnected the battery left the car for a bit took the plugs off the standard ece plugged in the power fc and then plugged int the commander then i conected the battery up turned the ignition on and initialize then switched the ignition off and on then start it up and it didnt like it it is miss fireing big time and cant rev it it makes it worse the screen comes up 13b so i guess its the right ecu and comander so i dissconnected the battery and fitted the original ecu again then connected the battery up and fired it up and still no good it runs sounds like misfiring smoking bad white smoke smell very fuely and i can hear this clicking away int he engine bay have i blown the car up?? |
does it run like a helicopter?
try pulling your plug wires on the front rotor out and see if it runs. Do the same with the back rotor. If it runs the same with the plug wires gone it's probably blown. |
blown motor and fouled spark plugs sound almost identical.
the apex-i was probley already tuned for another set up other than stock. wich was most likely running more fuel than you need. wich would burn out your plugs. try Part# B9ES from NGK. there made for jet skis i think. work great. very hard to foul them. theres no trailing and leading. so they dont matter where they go. i ran them in my FD and run them now in my 91 Turbo II. and also in my 1980 first gen. |
