Right now i'm in the process of sorting out the drive line of my 89 vert (n/a). I will be done soon and want to start going faster https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png . For some strange reason i'm thinking that a stand-alone fuel system will be nice to get FIRST. before exhaust and everything else. Since i cant justify the cost of buying a laptop AND a ECU/harness ($4000?) are the units that have "hand controllers" (wolf, microtech, powerFC) really worth it? I really dont know if in the future the car get a turbo driveline transplant or just a jumbo street port n/a

or maybe i just should leave it stock https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Sorry I just now noticed this post. Right now the only FC3S that has a Power FC available is the s5 (kouki) Turbo. You could possibly get in touch with AP engineering and pay the money for them to make you a Power FC. I am not sure about Wolf or Microtech since they are not available in Japan. Honestly for a NA car I think you could make plenty of power and still be safe without the expense of a standalone. If someday you decide to go turbo then possibly you could convert everything so that it is compatible with some type of standalone but I think it has been shown in other forums that it is much more time and cost effective to just go buy a car that is already turbo.

My vert is gonna stay non-turbo.....i was thinking semi-bridge in the future. And was going to run a stand alone, it seems that you really dont need it though....thanks ranzo

the mirco tech and the wolf use handsets. most of the others just run windows or dos programs, you can run em from a pda, or even a desktop (dont laugh, ive had mine in the car before https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... )

Cool, thanks! I have a nice pda so i might go for a haltech in the future. I really hate the AFM and that is what i am looking to eliminate, and other "bottlenecks" (stupid tps)

I thought I'd mention that I am very happy with my Microtech LT8. It was in my price range and is a windows based program. I am tuning via a laptop and the Tech Edge 1.5 WB.
