So I've been working on adding support for the haltech e6x to my software, I'm curious if anyone here has used the e6x much.. because I have found some problems.

The dos software (8.02 D) seems to be buggy, it crashes often if you tinker with the ignition setup then reaload a map from disk and tinker more and reload a map... it mostly seems to happen in this page.

The other major problem I've found is they have omitted "Road Speed" from the engine data page and the data logs! I am also unable to get O2 Loop value to come up in the datalogs, cannot recall if it comes up in the engine data page. The road speed thing is pretty surprising to me, since the only reason the road speed hookup exists is for a: gauges running off the haltech to display speed and b: datalogged road speed, what gives?

They have "Engine flags" and "I/O flags" in the datalogs & engine data pages, does anyone know what these are used for? I have yet to see them change in use.

I've already modified my software to support multiple E6 series ECU's (I don't think haltech even does this with their software, they just release model-specific programs) and I have the E6X support along enough to download maps from it and get engine data, but I must say throughout this development I have not been impressed with the changes they made to produce the E6X. It does have some nice features added (the dual maps for example is pretty cool, especially if you want to run nitrous), but it looks like they rushed it a bit, especially on the software end.

Anyone else have any comments on the e6x?

heres a pic of my dev bench etc:

the software is rushed, they are soon coming out with the windows stuff. imo, they should have just waited and relased the e6x as a windows ecu

do you know why the e6x dos software has the ECU ID selection in the main setup? WTF is that for?
