i'm going by memory here but i think the e11 and e6x use a slightly different cas wiring than the e6k.

the manual was pretty clear on this i think.

the cas has 2 pickups, a 2 tooth home trigger and a 30? tooth trigger. each pickup/relcutor has 2 wires, a + and a -. the + and the - should have continuity to each other (if you spin the cas it should have a spike in the resistance).

on the e11 and e6x you find the + terminals for each pickup, and wire them to the two trigger wires (home and ??).

up to here its the same as the e6k, the difference with the e11 and e6x is that you ground the - side of both pickups.

again this is clear in the manual, but not in my head!

you can spin the cas by hand to see if you get an rpm signal to the ecu

[Wiring the Mazda Crank Angle Sensor (CAS)]

- There are four wires there -- Red, White, Green, White/Black -> that come out

of the CAS. I recommend using a CAS from a Ser 5/GTX since these leads are longer

and easier to splice into. I had problems w/ the Ser 4 but it is possible to use it.

Update (5/26/00)

- Cut the 4-lead, white plug off of the CAS and re-splice in the 4-plug, black Haltech connector.

- Off of the E6K main harness, there's a shielded cable that contains four

wires -> White (or Yellow), Red, Green, and Black (or Blue).

Mazda CAS -> Haltech E6x Shielded Trigger Pickup harness hookup colour codes:

RED - White (or Yellow) Trigger + (Purple on MSD 8509) (trigger pair)

WHITE - Red Trigger - (Green on MSD 8509)

GREEN - Green Home + (Purple on MSD 8509) (home pair)

White/black - Black (or Blue) Home - (Green on MSD 8509)

I went ahead and used the stock white connector and just spliced into the lines on the mating portion for my flying lead harness. I think I'll need to shorten it a bit tho... I don't like long cable (shielded or not) lurking near my spark plugs.

yeah i made my harness like a stock one, infact the only real difference is that its got e11 plugs on the ecu side

Is this E11V2 only?

We're trying to figure out some misfiring problems only on cranking right now on a V1...
