I need more speed, and the budget won't allow for a Haltech, so I'm leaning toward going with the Apexi S-AFC and swapping 1600's in on my secondary injectors. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with this setup?

i think the safc only does +/-50% and the 1600's are too big, but i could be wrong.

the other option is to get your 550's bored out to 1100, that would work, or get 850's bosches instead of 1600's

No, you are quite correct, +/- 50%.

Honestly, I didn't know injectors could be modified to deliver more than their rated delivery.

I know there's a difference in injector impedance for pre-88 injectors versus later injectors. My car was mfd. in 1988. What impedance injectors do I need?

Is it possible to tune this setup with just a few dyno pulls?

rx modifies them, or theres plenty of bosch ones besides the 1600s

88 is high, 12-15ohms, you may need resistors. its not really a big deal

yes you should plan on like 3-4 pulls. you need one pull to see where you are, and then make corrections from there.

i always get confused on the dyno (its hot, loud, stinky etc etc) so next time i'm going to actually write down a schedule or if/then statements.

1. run #1 baseline, if it pings retard timing, if too rich lean it out 3% and so on.
