Hey guys. I thought I'd post my dyno results for all to see. The motor in questions is a 86 6 port that is bridge ported on the secondary ports only and uses a 86 turbo centre plate, 93 rotor housings and 9.0 CR rotors with 2mm SCR seals. I left the exhaust ports standard. The primary and aux ports are mild ported. The previous motor I had was identical except that the bridge porting was done on the aux ports. I'm using LIM from the UK which have butterfly valves installed compared to the standard cylindrical valves. This allowed me to fill in the auxilliary ports, similar in shape to those pineapple racing inserts. I'm running a Wolf3d ver 3 ecu, std coils with a M&W 3 channel ignitor. The aux ports are switched on at approx 6000 rpm via the Wolf3d. The exhaust is a custom built header 1 7/8" tubing approx 1.6 metres long, 2 resonators and into a collector, 3" pipe over the diff and into a truck muffler.

You can see the torque difference between the two motors. I found that the aux bridge was allowing the air/fuel mixture to escape through the bridged port and into the trailing combustion chamber during compression. Hence the low power and torque figures. The old motor was only marginally more powerful compared to a stock port 6 port with similar mods (exhaust, aftermarket ecu). The motor definately has the typical brap noise now and you can actually feel the motor come on song from 4000 rpm, similar to a 2 stroke motorbike.

The other pics show the next stage of development with the fitment of a Procharger. I know you can make all the power in the world with a turbo setup but I like the appeal of the supercharger. I know the guys at DNA Motorsports who developed a Procharger kit for the RX-8 and after having driven a supercharged RX-8 I was hooked. It still feels like a na motor but with more power so you still get that snappy throttle responce!
