after tunning the car on the street took it to the car to the dyno to do any of the fine tune adjustments and to see what power we would put down.

this was at about 11 psi and it looks like there is more power to be had from this hybrid turbo. i wonder what this turbo will start to peak out at.

relevant mods:

stock s5 motor

microtech lt8

S4 intakes

S4 turbo manifold modified w/ a TiAL 38mm wastegate

the turbo is stock S4 other then the upgraded compressor wheel (it looks like a bnr stage 1)?

stock ic

3" exhaust

are the s4 mani's/turbo better for power, or was it just waht the owner had available?

kahren 08-28-2005 02:33 AM

its what the owner had, the s5 turbo is a tad better

Impressive numbers! What were you tuning with? I'd be interested to see how much more power that car will make with an upgraded intercooler. If it is a bnr stage 1, I think they peak at about 15-16 psi. If it is a bnr stage 1 why did the owner go with an external wastegate? They port the stocker.

whoops forgot to add what ecu it had , i edited teh post. yep i would want to see that also. i am not sure why he decided to go with teh exeternal wastegate, i am assuming he didnt want to deal with the internal wastegate issues. as they always seem to happen once you start to modify teh car.

Wow 276 at the wheels nice. I'm hoping to get at least 250 RWP out of a TII once i boost it to 12PSI and put 3" downpipe on it, what "basics" would you do to help get me to the numbers i want??

oh thank god. that gives me some hope

i just bought a koyo rad and hks tmic for my car. already have a hks f-con and h-trim s4 hybrid, still have to port the wastegate and weld on a new flapper.

blew my motor last month so i need a new motor, and am getting a clutch/flywheel and maybe that new pineapple oilpan just for shits and giggles. also cleaning/flowing my injectors and pick the best matched among the two, and then get two 720s and rtek 1.7.

i believe that the fuel cut being totally eliminated and the more timing from the rtek combined w/ the f-con should do pretty good with that h-trim. if not, its motor #3 and a haltech :(

im going to run the stock cat/catback for as long as i can and in one fail swoop just buy a rb turboback and have like a 70hp jump.

im hoping for 220rwhp with stock cat/catback and 270-300rwhp with 3" exhaust and a boost controller, boost maybe 14psi w/ alky injection. this cali 91 sucks, but az only had 91 too and my friends boosted 17psi no prob w/ alky, but thats on a haltech and powerfc.
