this is an update to the previous thread

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/ind...howtopic=54927

installed an AFC, went back to the dyno only to find out that the computer will not let the injector duty cycle go up any higer as i am sure the 460 shouln't be maxing out just yet. i guess the stock computer, even regulated with an afc doesn't let the duty cycle go up any higher, had to find out the hard way. i couldnt get my wideband on prior to the dyno since i did the AFC isntall right outside of the dyno and didnt get a chance to test the AFRs before strapping it on (someting with the o2 bung being busted and the o2 not comming out?)

the car is still lean, i guess well throw in some bigger secondaries and then get the wideband on later and hopefully hit the dyno again. this car shoudl put down over 200 once the AFRs are where they should be.

the green line is from the last time the car was on the dyno with no fuel controller

the red line is the fuel return line being clamped with a set of locking pliars(to raise the fuel pressure)

and the blue line is what the car left with after adjusting the afc (the locking pliars removed )

the afc helped correct the fuel curve under 5000 rpm and made a bit more power, and only a minor correction up from 6500 rpm at which point the afc could not be adjusted any more.

so the car made 195 with the pliars on the fuel return line?

what did it put down with the afc? Looks like about 190?

yep 195 with the pliars beign teh fuel press reg https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png and 187 with the afc.

it has to yet go back to teh dyno after teh fuel problem is fixed. that car has since gotten 550 secondary injectors, but it has been in a bad accident so i am not sure if this motor will go in another car or if we are never going to see it dyno again https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

Is the picture of the iron in your signature from this engine? The ports look very nice. I am working on a 91 6 port engine now with a goal of 200 RWHP. Should be plenty for an FB.

I'm looking at the midrange, and how the power output changes very little from lean, to incredibly rich.

I've never played on a dyno before, but it's nice to see that I might not have been going crazy, and those jetting changes really might not have been making much of a difference.

Hi new to the fourum. How does the car idle/drive? does it have good street manners?

if you follow the link in the first post of this thread i talk about drivability of this car and what my stage 1 port is

FutantFC3s 05-18-2006 03:47 PM

that is good power for street port

Did you taper the 5th and 6th along with the 3rd and 4th

to port match the t2 lower intake manifold
