1985 GSL-SE turbo
#1
S5 NA irons. S4 TII rotors. Street ported. Aux sleeves removed and aux runners smoothed with Devcon. S5 NA intake. S4 turbo and manifold. Builds 10psi initially and then falls to 5psi at peak power. Wastegate is ported but it's just not responding quickly enough. Put a controller on it to hold 10psi at peak power and it spikes to 16-18 upon initial boost rise. About 10 months ago we made the same peak power number on a Dynojet with a stock 160,000 mile -SE block. With the new engine we haven't gained any peak power at the same boost but we did pick up around 30lb/ft of torque at 3000rpm. I'd like to keep working with the stock turbo, get it to stabilize boost at 10psi through the rev range but I think the owner has been bitten by the power bug and wants to go with a smallish T4 setup for an easy 300+whp. Did I mention it's breathing through a cat? Stay tuned.
