I dynoed my modified RX8 in Kirkland at Carb Conn.
Results:
200.8 RWHP / 148.6 FT-LBS (SAE Corrected to 196.77 / 142.75)
Site Conditions:
Dynojet 1-21-06. 63 Degrees, 47% Humidity, Altitude 250 feet.
Mods to my car:
Racing BEat REVi Intake, Ultra Plug Wires, Lineage Grounded, Unorthodox Racing Pulleys with 11% Underdrive, Mazdaspeed Lightened Flywheel, Rotary Performance Supercat Midpipe, Racing Beat REV8 Dual Catback Exhaust, Blue E-Manage with Slight Fuel Mods Only.
I plan on adding the Axial Flow Engineering Supercharger to the car next year after the engine management is all worked out with Richard Paul.

Thanks - It will get better. I have the Innovative Motorsports LC1 wideband with the XD1 gauge going in to monitor the O2 separate of what the canbus PCM is telling me. Once I have a better handle on the lambda ratios, I will tune the mix even better to about .92-.93 where the most power is to be made. The PCM is pulling timing at the upper end, so I need to add back in a few degrees to get back to 30 advance. I might even go with a full standalone for fuel and spark with the Mazsport Interceptor-X PCM, which is a customized Microtech with a built in harness and MAP sensor. Right now I'm just fooling the PCM with the E-Manage above 6200 RPM and 70% throttle in the open-loop.
I only have one more bolt on, and that would be a header. But all the work to date is struggling with the Siamese center exhaust port.

no offense to eight and rotary owners.. wishin this wasnt the case
but this is sad... specially with all those mods..
the six generates similar whp numbers and more torque with just an ecu flash and intake..
and her base is 18hp less than the eight..

While I appreciate your enthusiasm for another Mazda product, your post does not add merit to this thread. We all know that the 6 is a great car also, but a couple of items to remember:
It's front wheel drive
The V6 is a 3.0L piston engine
The manual V6 weighs 3287 lbs
My 8 in comparison:
Is rear wheel drive
Has a 1.3L ROTARY
And it weighs slightly under 3000 lbs now
PS: I am looking at a 6 for my wife

just expressin my disappointment for the lack of power the eight produces..
specially in comparison with a fwd 3200lb daily driven sedan..which is exactly my point...
ran the six gstock class against that of a bstock eight last year ...
was further disappointed by the eights results... figured id be outpowered-handled..
didnt drive away with the eight years ago from the dealership due to seating capacity btw...

That's ok. I have AMPs back if he loses in his Mazda6 at the lights. How much does the rx8 weigh? My car corner weight with a 48/52 F:R ratio. Cross weight of 49/51%, total weight 2820 lbs, full interior. Makes 196 RWHP and 183 ft-lbs torque. Although my engine might go kaboom at 146,000 miles... and only 78 psi cmopresson on the front and rear rotors...

I'm cool with that and I know what you mean about being dissapointed. Mazda did a pretty good job of extracting all the power out of the 8 in stock trim. Bolt on mods don't respond the same way because of the ECU getting in the way. My first dyno bone stock produced 177 RWHP sae corrected. I have only managed to get 19 HP out of my mods, but I don't have it completely tuned just yet. I posted here so that everyone could see this first hand. The Renesis has a tuff engine management to crack.
