Well, I went down to the drag strip today. It was a perfect day to go here in Seattle, it's sunny, and in the mid 50s. Not bad for Seattle! I was able to get in 9 - 10 runs before my clutch started to slip real bad. Anyway, here are a few of my best times....
My best time.... R/T - .649 60' - 1.988 330 - 5.595 1/8 - 8.560 MPH - 84.69 1000 - 11.075 1/4 - 13.211 MPH - 106.05 My next best time.... R/T - .624 60' - 2.099 330 - 5.749 1/8 - 8.689 MPH - 84.79 1000 - 11.204 1/4 - 13.332 MPH - 106.53 And a few other runs.... 60' - 2.104 1/4 - 13.418 MPH - 102.74 60' - 2.058 1/4 - 13.456 MPH - 105.28 60' - 2.139 1/4 - 13.425 MPH - 107.27 I had a few other runs in the 13s. I was the fastest import there. All of my mods are in my sig. |
VERY VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW ! 13.2 @ 106 !!!!! that's damn good. your car is probably making about 250-260rwhp!!!!!!
I am very happy with my times. Hell, I would have just been happy breaking into the 13s. I think that with a good clutch, and a good launch I'd be in the high 12's.
What was your best time with your TII Vosko?
13.7 @ 100 MPH with stock catback... LOL
13.7, that is what I thought it was. You never ran it after you got the N1 on there?
I will have vids of some of the runs in here pretty soon, I'm waiting for a friend to edit out all of the crap. |
i ran 13.8@ 101.5 with the car blowing up with the N1 on it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I need do get my 60' times down, I think they are a bit high. I wonder how long my turbo will last, It already had alot of end play. I'd say almost 1/8" in and out, and about 1/16" side to side. But it wasn't making any noise, and in 4th gear it was getting up to 15 psi. My car was running a bit warm (about the middle of the temp gauge), so I think I'll toss the fan shroud in tomorrow.

Well, I have no boost controller, and the next $300 - $400 I spend will be for a clutch. I was running my SAFC a bit rich under hi throttle, plus the big IC has got to help too. I kind of kept my eye on the A/F gauge, and it seemed that it was running pretty rich. Neither the turbo or the engine seemed to have any complaints, only the clutch.
i dunno wait and see i guess ?
Well keep in mind I am not hitting 15 psi on a daily basis. And if I could, I would run lower boost.
WOW! nice!!!!! tires/clutch? nice 60ft times!!!!
My tires are toyos, but I'm not sure what series, I bought them 3 years ago. Their size is 225/50/15 Z rated mounted on the BBS wheels from the vert. Not sure about the clutch either, it was in the car when I bought it, but it is now pretty much toast after making 9 or 10 runs down the strip. The last few runs it was slipping real bad, but I still managed to keep the times under 14.6.
well.... better safe than sorry. one ping and you need a new engine :(
Yes, I hear you there. When you blew your engine(s) you were still using the stock IC, right? I think the fact that I'm running a big IC will help out. While I was racing today it only crept up to 15 psi for maybe a second or two, and then I would shut down, because I was across the finish line. It is not like it was pegged at 15 psi the whole way down the track. The boost only gets that high while in 4th and 5th gear. It'll go up to about 11 - 12 psi untill I really get into the upper RPM range, then it slowly creeps up to 15 psi. I understand your concern, and I thank you for it, but it does not seem to be an issue with my car. Sometime this spring I'm going to try and get a little dyno time to tune it with a wide band o2 and my SAFC.
not bad for some simple bolt ons huh?
Go out and hunt down some domestic cars and spank em' around a bit. |
great times, especially with the clutch.....
you can deifnately see the times that were better had the good 60ft times.....when they some down, so will your et..... |
Hey cabrio, you should drive Voskos car in the 1/4, maybe it will
go faster and make it home in one piece as well, lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif |

I don't want to pull a ricer move and strip the car down to nothing, because this car is my daily driver. |
nice numbers congrats...
