Well, me and P'cola FD made the 9 1/2 hr trip to Pettit this past weekend. They are

great people. Cam really knows his ****, especially tuning the E6K. They had several 3rd Gens there. One Banzai with .3 miles on the engine, and a Silver Base

with 25,000 miles that looked brand new! Candy's 2 rotor race FD makes like 700hp and has a turbo on it (no ****!) the size of a small pizza. I didn't make as much power as we were expecting. Im just happy that the reconstruction is over with, and nothing broke. The clutch was slipping a bit. I didn't have time to swap my stock clutch out for my new ACT s/s. Im going to go to a local dyno after I get it swapped out, to see if it makes a diffrence. The power started falling off at 7400rpms, I guess we should have went larger on the ports. Anyways, I don't have a scanner to post the graph. But here are the numbers. I'll try to post the graph when I get around a scanner. I will say that the graph is the steadist I have ever seen, no break up at all.

Max rwhp 289.0 at 7300rpms

Max torque 235.6 at 5100rpms

Avg A/F 11.6/1 no higher than 11.4/1 during boost

Boost was pretty steady at 11.5psi

Air intake temps were 102 climbing to 120 during the runs

very nice!

awesome man. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

rotary speedster 06-28-2003 12:55 AM

Thanks for the comments guys. I've got the new clutch in, and I'll post the

new numbers soon. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

That's good to hear man... have you ran it against any other fd's (manual) I can see your happy. do you think there's still a difference with your manual and a factory fd manual..

rotary speedster 06-29-2003 12:29 PM

I have not ran against anybody yet. Last night was the first night that I took

it to town and was able to get on it. Im sure as soon as P'cola FD gets his

broke in we will be lining them up.

As for telling this diffrence, its according to how much effort you put into the

swap. I had alot of other things going on at the same time. So i still have the

auto center console with no shift boot and I did not switch out the gauge cluster,

which I have been able to get working with the Haltech anyways. But, everything

else is the same as factory.

WickedFD 06-29-2003 06:14 PM

auto to manual swap...? Should be no different than any other manual rite? anyways, nice numbers. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/beerchug.gif

what do you mean by that?

blaze08 06-30-2003 01:30 AM

So how much did you end up paying for the swap in total... any pics? and did you also end up changing the differential because the gears are different.

Yes I changed the diff out. I think that is a must in my opinion. I drove it a few

days with the auto one, and the manual gears are a ton better. I paid around

$1500-$1650, including a $437 new clutch kit. I also found most of the parts

from the same person and drove 7 hours to pick up instead of paying shipping.

Rotaryman88 06-30-2003 07:34 PM

Cool man. Did they give you a copy of the data files for the dyno? Or just printouts...if you have the data files, send 'em to me. I have the dyno software on my laptop, and I'll take screen shots and post 'em for ya.

rotary speedster 07-02-2003 10:01 AM

They just gave me the print outs.

blaze08 07-02-2003 11:33 PM

any pics on the car while it was being converted or the final look?

rotary speedster 07-03-2003 12:05 AM

Sorry, I can't afford the FD and a digital camera. ;p

Jims5543 07-06-2003 05:49 PM

Did you meet Matt?? Thats my brother. He is on here as either Mattheman or Pettitman. I am not familiar with your car give me the rundown.

Those are noce #'s the most important question is how were your a/f ratios??

Pettit has an awesome facility. I am doing some work to my FD powered FC and hope to dyno in a few weeks and crank it up.

I with I knew you were here I would have hooked up with you and we could have terrorized the local rice.

rotary speedster 07-07-2003 04:29 PM

Yea, I was hoping to make it to the bar b que ya'll had. The only people I met there were Cam and Candy. I wish we could have hooked up, your car sounds very interesting. I'll be sure to let you know before I make the trip again.

Im gonna post the dyno sheet in a minute.

dyno sheet. sorry it's sideways

RX-007 07-08-2003 01:03 PM

hey guys, i was the one down at pettit picking up my car (dark blue with teins and volks) while you all were there. that dyno sheet looks a lot better than the one run i saw on the screen while i was there. lol. anyway, glad to hear that things are working out for ya. mine is running really well too, by the way.

Matt and I were at an Evolution driving school the weekend you were there thats why Matt was not there. He is a giant rotory fan. He is in heaven working there.

That pull looks great that car is probably pulling real hard. You mixture is great too tons of fuel. That engine will last a long time tuned like that.

Hey whats up! I remember your car. Its sweet.

We race in an Autocross in Palm Bay every month. I will miss this months but will be at next months August 17 at the Palm Bay Campus of BCC at the police skid pad next to the new swimming facility. Come out in August and say hi.

rotary speedster 07-08-2003 04:20 PM

Thanks for the comments guys.

Andrew- So you got the highflow cat fitment worked out, or did you go with the mp? Your car looks great, btw. Yea the first few runs where at 6psi with tons of full dripping out the exhaust pipe. We still tuned it conservatively at 11.5psi, I can't afford another rebuild at the moment.

Someone can resize and rotate the pic if you would like.

RX-007 07-11-2003 10:33 AM

thanks for the kind words guys. as of right now i am running that resonated mp that has the "fitment" problems. i just took some heat wrap to it and i dampens out the rattle well. im thinkin i might go to the drag tonight. i will update you on what happens.

oh, and i will see you @ the autox in aug.

rotary speedster 07-12-2003 02:20 AM

Thanks for taking the time to do that Pengaru!

Does anybody else have any comments on the numbers?

Im totally happy with the car. But, from seeing other peoples

numbers I think mine are a little low. Especially the torque,

(which I know is not the maker of the rotary). We did the pulls

in 3rd gear, if that makes a diffrence.

1Revvin7 07-12-2003 02:30 AM

Thats pretty good for only 11.5psi!
