I did NOT remove the airpump.

The metal hose from the air pump is attached to another metal hose, and both are attached to the back of intake manifold. I was able to loosen some bolts there to get those hoses loose enough for me to get the y-pipe in. Took me about an hour to figure out, but that was still quicker than taking the air pump off (for me at least). I also removed that rubber coupler, but after loosening those bolts I probably could have left it on.

The two metal hoses I'm talking about are shown here:

how could it be quicker than removing the air pump???? that thing isnt that hard to get out... or at least on my car, maybe i have a special "easy removal" air pump https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

LAracer 03-05-2003 12:35 PM

Well, I guess for me it was quicker because I have not yet removed the air pump, so I avoided that particular learning curve.

(If it was that easy, then why didn't HobbeZ just remove it instead of posting this question?)

I'm just trying to help out, that's all. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png .

cause he didnt have the tools to remove the air pump he said https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

i think everyone should learn how to remove the air pump and then do all the mods to remove it for good https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif
