Unprofessional, imprecise diagnosis, since I have no tools--but I feel no extra kick of power around 5K RPM, like I do at 3K, in the rx7 I recently got, and it won't go much over 120 mph. There's a hose right about there that looks cracked to me, and while it'd be nice if that was the whole of the problem, is that likely to be it?

That hose, behind the one in front that you can actually see, which looks fine.

IM guessing that its the line to the charge relief valve.

I doubt that is your problem.

If you have stock vacum hoses you need to get the hoses redone with silicon.

The stock ones get hard and brittle and pop off easily.

PFS charges about $500 to do it. They are the most compitent shop in the area.

Tell Ryan that Dave Clair sent ya.

You could do the job your self if you want to tackle it but beware it isnt an easy task for a newbie to the 7.

Let us know what you decide to do. And take note that it is not cheap by any means to keep these cars on the road and running properly, just ask vokso. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Heh, I don't think I need 459 rwhp worth of "running properly," but I am trying to save up my pennies for the recommended reliability mods. Guess the hoses are the priority, over the AST, downpipe, and others if they already need replacing anyway.

Then gradually, eventually, I'm kinda planning on using Sport Compact Car's project rx-7 as a general guide for a few performance upgrades. (http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...rx7/index.html)
